🎶Meet Acacia! We are so excited to welcome her to the team as a Programmatic Music Specialist!

Here is a little bit more about Acacia and how she found her calling in music therapy:

Acacia originally hails from Plainsboro, NJ. She graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, with a B.M. in Music Therapy and a minor in Psychology. Having grown up in a musical household all her life, Acacia has considered music an integral part of her personal growth. Encouraged by her parents, she quickly became involved with various music groups early on in her childhood. Because of this, Acacia has seen firsthand the power music holds to empower others and to connect and bring people closer together in community. Moreover, she has always had a great passion for helping children in their development, and since her youth, she has participated in volunteering and teaching in various children's programs. All these experiences helped her realize she wanted to work a job that combined the passion she had for the enrichment of children’s lives with her passion for the healing and relational power of music.

Acacia's favorite thing about being in the music therapy world is the role she gets to play in facilitating and nurturing relationships and aiding in her clients’ confidence in self-expression and self-advocacy. It is truly rewarding for her to see her clients grow as their own person, as well as grow with their peers! While Acacia has mainly worked with children in her clinical practice, she is extremely excited to be working with and supporting a wide variety of populations in her time here at RMTS. Acacia is ecstatic to begin this next chapter at Roman Music Therapy Services and to continue serving the community!

🎵Meet Sam, the newest member of our team at RMTS!

We are so excited to bring Sam onto the team as a Programmatic Music Specialist!

🎼Here is a little bit about Sam:

Sam Giunta is a recent graduate from The University of Rhode Island and was lucky enough to be a part of the first music therapy cohort at URI. At URI Sam studied voice where he trained in classical, jazz, and musical theater. He then completed his internship at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA where he continued to foster his skill and grow as a clinician. The thing Sam loves most about music therapy is its universal design, which allows it to reach anyone at any age. He also works within a client-centered approach which he considers vital to fostering authentic and strong therapeutic relationships. Originally from North Reading, MA and now living in Medford, Sam is very excited to work with RMTS to continue to create and promote music therapy in the communities and towns that influenced so much of who he is.

Outside of music therapy, Sam enjoys taking walks, riding the T, singing in professional choirs, and spending quality time with loved ones and friends.

🌟Join us in the comments to give Sam a warm welcome to RMTS!

🎶 We’re excited to share our new brand video - a look into the heart of Roman Music Therapy Services and the powerful impact of our work through music therapy partnerships.

From building community and breaking down barriers, to partnering with schools, hospitals, and human service agencies, we’re proud to collaborate with organizations that share our mission of making music accessible to all and making sure every voice is heard.

Whether it’s creating tailored programs like our NICU music therapy initiative at Brigham and Women's Hospital bringing company wellness programs to employees in the workplace, supporting students in Lawrence Public Schools and individuals served by Bridgewell, we meet each partner where they are - with expertise, creativity, and care.

💛 Thank you to the Associated Industries of Massachusetts for making this project possible through their generous grant, and to Greener Concepts for helping us bring our story to life.

🎥 Watch the full video to see how we’re transforming lives through music and meaningful partnerships.

Last Sunday, the Roman Music Therapy Services team showed up to support our amazing Director of Talent, Jen Ray, as she ran the Boston 10K with the Friends of the NICU team to support Brigham and Women's Hospital!

We’re so proud of Jen and grateful to everyone who donated to her fundraiser.

It means so much to be part of a team that shows up for each other and for meaningful causes in our community.

We’re also incredibly thankful for our ongoing partnership with Brigham and Women’s and the opportunity to bring music therapy to babies and families in the NICU.

Congratulations to Jen and all of the runners!
