Today, we invite you to try a simple grief activity: write a letter to the person you miss. Tell them what’s on your mind. Share a memory, something you wish you had said, or even how much you miss them today.

There is no right or wrong way to do this. You do not have to show anyone. This is simply a gentle way to honor your grief and your connection.

Sometimes healing begins by giving our love a place to land. 🤍

MYTH-BUSTING MONDAY 💬

Losing someone is hard for every member of a family, including the youngest ones.

One of the most common myths we hear is that children should be kept away from funerals. In reality, when children are given gentle preparation, honest explanations, and loving support, being included can help them feel less confused, less afraid, and more connected to the people around them. It can also give them an important chance to say goodbye in their own way.

There is never a perfect formula for grief, especially with children. Every child is different, and every family’s needs are unique. What matters most is making sure children feel safe, supported, and loved as they begin to understand loss.

We paused our new 𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡-𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 this week so we could focus on honoring 𝐶𝑎𝑟𝑜𝑙 𝐻𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑃𝑒𝑟𝑟𝑦 at the Ribbon Cutting Event — a moment that meant so much to our family, our staff, and our community.

Today, we’re picking back up with this week’s myth:

It was great seeing so many members of our community out today at the MaineHealth Waldoboro Physicians Building Ribbon Cutting.

We were honored to contribute to today’s event in memory of Mike Hall's sister, Carol Hall Perry, and to support the people and organizations that make Midcoast Maine such a special place to live.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this building a reality and to those who organized such a wonderful celebration.

We were glad to have so many of Carol's family join us, especially her husband, Jim Perry.

MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital will soon welcome to the community its new MaineHealth Primary Care facility in Waldoboro.

In support of this project, Hall's has donated a memorial bench that will be placed in honor and memory of Mike Hall's beloved sister and our dear funeral director and friend, Carol Hall Perry, whose compassion and commitment to caring for families at their most difficult time of life follow in the footsteps of their parents, Dick and Cynthia Hall. Over the many years she worked with Mike, she comforted many throughout Waldoboro and our surrounding communities.

Carol believed strongly in supporting the people and places that made our community stronger through her many volunteer efforts. It is meaningful to see her legacy recognized in a space dedicated to caring for others.

This new space represents an investment in the health and well-being of our neighbors across Lincoln and Knox Counties — something we at Hall Funeral Homes and Crematory deeply value and are proud to support.

So when you walk up to the new building and see Carol's bench, we know you will remember her as fondly as we all do.

At Hall Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, we’re always looking for ways to better serve the families who trust us during some of life’s most important moments.

Yesterday, our Tribute Team participated in training on our new Audio Visual system, led by Darrell Gudroe and Dinyo Dimov from Gudroe Technology Group.

This new system has now been installed in all three of our locations and will allow us to:

• Live stream services for family and friends who cannot attend in person
• Record services seamlessly so they can be shared or revisited later
• Broadcast services in overflow rooms, allowing guests to comfortably see and hear the service even when the main room is full
• Provide enhanced slideshow displays with upgraded TV screens

These improvements help ensure that every tribute is shared clearly and meaningfully, whether someone is in the room or joining from afar.

We’re grateful to Darrell, Dinyo, and the team at Gudroe Technology Group for helping make this possible.
