Mother’s Day can be a day of love, gratitude, and celebration — but for many, it can also be tender, complicated, or deeply painful.

Today, we honor mothers in every form:
those who are here,
those who are missed,
those grieving a mother,
those grieving a child,
those who have experienced miscarriage or infant loss,
those who placed a child for adoption,
those who became mothers through adoption,
those longing to become mothers,
and those who carry a mother’s love in quiet, unseen ways.

Within our Hall’s family, motherhood has shaped us in many seasons — Liz became a mother 24 years ago, Robyn 5 years ago, and Sarita 4 years ago. Each story is different, but each one carries the same quiet truth: love changes us.

We also remember the women who nurtured, guided, protected, and loved like mothers — grandmothers, aunts, sisters, friends, caregivers, and chosen family.

However this day finds you, may you feel surrounded by gentleness, memory, and grace.

From all of us at Hall Funeral Homes, we wish you a peaceful Mother’s Day.

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲

Sometimes, the most meaningful goodbye happens in a quiet room, shared only with close family.

Before a public service, a private family moment can provide space for reflection, comfort, and connection. It allows loved ones to pause, take in the reality of the moment, and say goodbye in their own way, without pressure or distraction.

These personal moments are often deeply meaningful and can become an important part of the grieving process.

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲

Grief does not follow a schedule, a timeline, or a set of rules. It changes from person to person, day to day, and moment to moment.

There is no “right” way to grieve, and there is no perfect pace for healing. Some days may feel lighter, while others feel unexpectedly heavy. Both can be part of the journey.

Offering ourselves and others grace in grief can be one of the most meaningful forms of care.

🥳🎊🥳🎉
Today we are wishing a very happy 60th birthday to our President, owner, funeral director, fearless leader, and occasional teller of jokes we may or may not have already heard before, Michael Hall!

For decades, Mike has carried forward the Hall family legacy with dedication, honesty, compassion, humor, and a deep commitment to the families and communities we serve. His leadership has shaped not only Hall Funeral Homes, but also the many people who have had the privilege of working alongside him.

Sixty years is certainly something to celebrate — though we have a feeling Mike will insist it is “just another day.”

Happy Birthday, Mike. We are grateful for you today and every day.

And here's to another 60 years?! 😜

💙 With Love,
Liz, Lexi, Trenna, Jamie, and Robyn

We would like to extend our congratulations to Richard Lash, who has been a dedicated funeral attendant with us for nearly 15 years, on receiving a Phoenix Award from Maine EMS for his role in a cardiac arrest save while serving with Waldoboro EMS.

Richard’s calm presence, care, and dedication are qualities we are grateful to see in his work with Hall’s, and we are proud to see his service in EMS recognized in such a meaningful way.

Congratulations to all on this well-deserved recognition!

Today while the former EMS Director was on duty we got to recognize him for his part in a cardiac arrest save in June of 2025. Maine EMS recognizes teams annually who are involved in saving a life in the pre-hospital setting.

These situations are the most dire of emergencies and being able to be a part of a positive outcome is something we take immense amounts of pride in here in Waldoboro as does the rest of the EMS community here in Maine and beyond!

We are grateful for Richard, his knowledge, his skill and dedication and we are even more grateful that this patient was on the receiving end of his care back in June.

Richard is "retired" and busier than ever and he graces us with his presence for a few shifts a month.

Congratulations Richard! (We had to drag him in front of the camera and may have bribed him to allow us to take the photo)

In 2025 we had another group of individuals who were involved in a cardiac arrest save in February of 2025. They were recognized at a meeting of our Select board shortly thereafter, however it should be noted that they too will be receiving Phoenix awards from Maine EMS for their actions on that day in February as well. Those individuals are as follows.

Captain- Anita Sprague
Paramedic- Toby Hollis
AEMT -Tim McLaughlin
EMT- Gabriel Cooley

We are grateful for their skill, knowledge, professionalism and compassion as well, and again grateful that their patient was on the receiving end of said care.

All of these individuals would tell you it's just their job, but they've done us proud and it's important we recognize them.

Stay safe out there.

𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗚.......𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲

When someone is grieving, it is easy to worry about finding the right words. But often, what matters most is not what you say — it is that you show up.

A visit. A meal. A card. A quiet check-in. Sitting beside someone in silence. These simple acts can offer more comfort than we realize.

Grief can feel isolating. Presence reminds people they do not have to carry it alone.

You do not need perfect words to make a difference. You just need kindness, patience, and the willingness to be there.

MYTH BUSTING MONDAY:

In one of life’s hardest moments, most families are navigating something they have never had to do before. It is completely normal to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, and unsure of what comes next.

At Hall’s, we help guide families through each step with compassion, clarity, and care — so you do not have to figure it all out alone.

When the unexpected happens, a steady hand and a caring heart can make all the difference.

MYTH-BUSTING MONDAY 🫶

At Hall Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, we believe every life is unique, and every service should reflect that. For some families, that may mean religious traditions and ceremony. For others, it may mean a more personal gathering centered on memories, music, storytelling, favorite hobbies, photographs, or special touches that capture who their loved one truly was.

There are many ways to personalize a service, including:

🌼 Photo displays and memory boards
🌸 Slideshow tributes and videos
🌺 Favorite music
🌻 Poetry or meaningful readings
💐 Artwork or handmade items
🪻 Displays that reflect hobbies, passions, or accomplishments

When thinking about personalization, it can help to reflect on the moments shared, the things they loved, and what made them unmistakably themselves.

Because honoring a life should feel personal.

Whether today is filled with celebration, reflection, remembrance, or stillness, we’re holding space for all of it.

From our Hall’s family to yours, we wish you a peaceful Easter.

MYTH-BUSTING MONDAY 💬

Some people assume a funeral home’s role ends when the service does. The truth is, grief doesn’t follow a schedule — and care shouldn’t either.

At Hall Funeral Homes & Crematory, we know support is often needed not just in the moment, but in the days and weeks that follow. Whether a family needs guidance, reassurance, or simply a place to turn, we are here to walk alongside them with compassion and care.

Because serving families means more than helping with arrangements — it means continuing to show up when it matters most.
