Thank you CHC family for showing your appreciation. It’s a blessing to have been able to see so many patients from birth through college. Time flies when you’re having fun!! As many of you know, sometimes our patients don’t even want to transition to adult general medicine! We miss them when our chicks fly the coop 😉🐣

This year is off to a grateful start, and we hope your first couple weeks of the year have gone smoothly.

Temps have risen since last week but it’s sure still winter! Make sure you bundle up like we did at the last Commanders game 😍 Hats, scarves, multiple layers, and great company with loved ones are great protection against the cold.

🎒 Back to School Boost with Total Health Kids! 📚
School is right around the corner! Let’s ensure our kids are well prepared for a fantastic school year. Join Dr. Teju Ogunrinde of the Total Health Kids in collaboration with CHC Waldorf for our Back to School Drive on August 15th from 10 AM - 2 PM in Waldorf. We’re giving away backpack packages and $50 gift cards to help some kids (Elementary - 12th grade) from Brandywine, Waldorf, and La Plata get ready for school!
Priority will be given to kids that have completed their physical and vaccination appointments scheduled prior to August 15th.

Hi CHC Family! We know it’s been HOT! There is another heat advisory in place today so we’d like to continue to give you tips to stay safe and cool.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.

Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke.

Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1 if you or someone around you shows symptoms of heat stroke shown in this post.

STAY COOL! Temperatures are rising nationwide and it seems like summer is in full swing. Do not be caught unprepared for high temperatures this weekend during the heatwave, as it can have serious consequences. The Maryland Department of Health has some great tips to handle heat related illnesses. As always, if you or your child are experiencing symptoms of excess heat, please contact your physician! Drink lots of water, cool off periodically, and never leave anyone inside a hot car on a hot day. Now, go out and have some fun: TGIF!
