The black photo is the southern cross. These were on a night safari and how we drove those trails with no head lights is amazing to me. Then the sunset cruise were hippos watched us. The people, the land, the struggle and those animals who grace us with their presence.

Hector Pieterson. This is his sister. Powerful story. His death was the beginning of the end of Apartheid in South Africa. For me and two others it was overwhelming. It renders appreciation for indoor plumbing and for now what we have a freedoms. Their constitution follows the keep it simple theory and they love it. On a side note I have literally never seen cleaner bathrooms. Every single one even in the bush is assigned a cleaning person and they are ridiculously clean.

Now the following pictures show how they try to contain hiv. Usaid sent this country condoms and antiretrovirals. The average age prior to our country and other countries doing this was 35. Because of global support they are much better in terms of transmission and longevity. They are worried now because no more usaid. This means those who are considered not transmissible will revert back once the meds have stopped. So to combat the spread as well clinics are offered. And this one was next to a liquor store.

Safari x2! These animals either crossed the road or were standing by the road. There is a photo of wild dogs. It is very very rare to see them and even our guides were excited. There are only 4000 left on this planet. We saw tigers but the photo makes them blend. Fantastic.

Sharks today!!!! And humbled as to what nothing looks like. A shanty town is very very poor role living in handmade buildings with no running water or plumbing and “diverted” electric. A port o potty is what is given every couple of dwellings. Huge disparity with really no safety nets ie SNAP, section 8 or Medicare. They do have medical provided to all however. With beauty comes diversity, and have and have nots.
Enjoy the pictures.

Some photos from Cape Town South Africa!!! I will be looking for that kooky tree when I get back. I found the monkey puzzle tree from Ireland and it is planted in my front yard. The history has been so enlightening of this country.

Hello everyone!!!!
A little excitement last night when our flights were cancelled at 7pm! But alas it was all fixed and we are in our way to South Africa. We arrive in Cape Town and while there is my shark adventure. We then take two 5 hour drives and a puddle jumper plane up the coast with two over land and 1 safari over water. Up we go to Victoria Falls when I will be in a helicopter to see the falls. Hopefully it actually has water. We end in Johannesburg for the 20 hour flight back home. There will be pictures along the way!!!!!! There are no do overs so pick a place regardless if in the US or overseas and enjoy!!!!
Deborah will be holding down the fort and all the staff is there to help things along. I will be watching a smidge signal hopeful in Africa and be available as always. I’m never really off.
My thanks to the office gals and see everyone soon.
Dr. M

Well hello WPPC peeps!
Time for an update! But first a thank you for all those who continue to see us for their care. Thank you for getting to know Deborah as she develops her patient roster. You have been most kind. We are catching up to be in the 2025 groove for annuals which is fantastic!!! My love notes from insurances telling me to catch up has decreased.
For our government workers we rub a Buddha for all as it seems the trickledown effect is happening which includes us. We can only hope it settles down.
Now, my classes are coming to a close. I have completed the sexual assault forensic examiner class for adult/adolescence. I will need to do exams, so this is my current challenge as hospitals require me to be an employee. I have completed my Botox class and will be adding this and microneedling to the practice so stay tuned for these!!!! I am actually excited for the microneedling addition, and we will have a Medi spa room which has been empty since I got my office (Covid hit) and it will sadly not be farm decorated as I have been banned from hanging my pictures painted for me in that room. The final class I will keep for now as it is a hot ticket at the moment.

Our best and most exciting is a WEBSITE IS COMING!!!!!! I have not done this mostly due to cost of keeping it up, but it will be lovely and represent us as an office.
The website will be
whiteplainsprimarycarellc.com
I made it the same as the email for ease of use. Forms will be there and ways to see what we do and who we are.

So, that is the update for now. As many of you know after my horrible illness I decided to do a trip bucket list. My next trip is AFRICA!!!!!!!
I will be cage swimming with sharks, 2 land and 1 water safari and a trip to Victoria Falls of which there will be a helicopter ride. There are three of us going and only I will be doing all the daring adventures as they have no vision. One thinks she will surely get dengue, malaria and then be a lion snack. LOL
Make sure you watch the page as I always post pictures of the adventures!

Today's diet tip..............................fiber. eat it and take it. Clean colon, weight loss and overall health is the goal.

See everyone in the office for all the checks we do to keep you healthy and living your best life.

Hello WPPC peeps!

Lots to cover.
As many of you know I have had surgery and am post op. I will be returning the beginning of March. Thank you to staff and NP Deborah for holding down the fort.

As a reminder please make sure you leave your messages on the correct line. Leaving on all the lines delays the follow up as the right hand thinks the left hand handled the issue. Leaving med refills on appointment line again delays follow up.

We send texts for appointment reminders and calls for our seniors who request it. I wish we were all fancy and the 428 reminders ( my dentist is a reminder crazy man) but alas we are not one of the big boys with endless money. Although our way is not perfect it does give a digital footprint which helps us figure out how to change to be better. Our admin still checks the ring central call log when calls are not returned as to who got them.

UHC Medicaid has had a big boo boo in house. It is affecting all of us and we are unable to get any referrals in the portal that your specialist is requiring. Bare with us as we know it is being worked on.

In the midst of all of this, I am also taking a class to be a sexual assault examiner which means I can give back in a small way to women and men who are victims of sexual violence. Busy for sure.

So, to end this long catch up please please follow up as needed. Medications given are not without issues long term or not in need of surveillance. For most it is every 6 months and an annual for one of the visits so twice a year.

And please give 24 hours notice of cancellation so your appointment can be offered to someone else. We are a small office and I like it that way but no shows are always an issue with all the changes in insurances and what they decrease to pay providers.

Whew!
Thank you all for continuing to be part of our office. I know all of you and NP Deborah is learning as she goes.

See everyone soon,
Dr. M

Well, hello to all of the snowbirds and snow boys! It seems that we did get some snow. We were able to do telehealth today and barring a few glitches we got everything to work swimmingly. We will be doing telehealth again tomorrow. If you are due any injection, Ashley will be calling you to move you to Wednesday.. I’m sorry to bust everyone’s bubble but the annuals that were scheduled we will just have to move out to another day as there are too many of us that live too far away or unable to navigate roads and driveways to get into the office. By the way, if you get a number that shows up on your caller ID that shows a rockville, San Juan, Puerto Rico, or who else knows where it is most likely RingCentral and the staff is using RingCentral to call you. If it’s a telemarketer just hang up, but most likely it will be us.
I realize I’m a hopeless romantic when it comes to the snow, but when you go out and stand, and you listen to the snow, it’s the only way I can describe the word silence. Cleaning it up, not so much
