Watching this Amaryllis bloom over the past month has reminded me of the basic tenant of Chiropractic philosophy, Innate Intelligence. Innate or inner wisdom is that inherent or natural ability of a living organism to self regulate and adapt to its environment. It allows us to function, metabolize, energize and heal without us even giving it a conscious thought. The beating of our heart, regulation of breathing, turning food into healthy tissue and healing of a cut or a broken bone are just some examples.
