So much has changed for me since this picture was taken 10 years ago. This was the beginning of my own journey of a true addiction recovery!

I have so many good memories of working at Salvation Army Turning Point. The staff, working side by side with my brother, and even sister for a short time.

I will never forget the clients who came through the doors, shared their stories, and the courage it took for them to become vulnerable to share some of their darkest moments of past trauma, chronic health issues, and the mental health struggles so many deal with on a daily basis.

You see, we are never too young, or old, to face our struggles. I am 64, and working daily to maintain my health, from anxiety, depression, years of emotional eating, smoking ci******es, and occasionally drinking more than I should in my younger years. Be kind; reserve judgement on those with addictions, we know not what they have been through 💕

I will never have that Barbie Doll figure, but at least I will live my golden years as healthy as possible, and have a hell of a good time while I do😎

Also, as my brother says, while so simple, yet, not easy, addiction recovery requires one to be rigorously honest with one’s self, if it is to work💗
