Some of our patients did not get the clarification text so we thought we would post it here so our patients don't have to stress about a prescription fee
Our office sent out a text/email to all patients earlier today, and we’ve received several calls from patients with questions. This is being sent for clarification.
Script fees will not apply to all medications. You don’t have to worry about being charged to refill medications that Christine has already prescribed for you. For certain medications, Christine may tell you to check in with us a month or two after your visit and she may adjust your dose if needed. If you were told to contact us about possible adjustments within a time frame, the script fee will not apply.
The script fee will be $50 for new medications that are requested and require a change in your current treatment plan. If you’re calling with acute illness (Sinus infection, UTI, Covid, etc) and asking for a prescription, a script fee will be required. If your dermatologist prescribed something in the past and you want Christine to send a prescription, that would require a script fee. If you’re calling several months past your appointment and asking for medication changes at that time, the script fee may apply, or a visit may be needed depending on the circumstance.
In general, if you keep up with your follow-up visits as recommended and address issues at your visit, you don’t have to worry about the script fee. This is being implemented due to the increase in patient volume and frequent patient calls/requests for things that have not been addressed in previous visits. Our clinic only has one provider and has a very small staff, we want each patient to receive great care and this is one way to reduce volume and help ensure that Christine has time to care for all her patients.
Again thank you for your understanding through all these changes to better the clinic for our patients :)
