This race is brought to you by the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club. By running the Summer Solstice Twilight 8K, you'll help support the Frederick chapter of Blessings in a Backpack. Visit https://www.frederickss8k.com/ for race & registration information. Net proceeds will be donated to the Frederick chapter of Blessings in a Backpack. The local chapter works in partnership with the national Blessings in a Backpack organization to provide weekend food to children who depend on the federal Free And Reduce-Price Meal program as their primary source of nutrition.

Today, we had the pleasure of presenting the 2025 race proceeds of $12,791 to Blessings in a Backpack Frederick Chapter. This donation from the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club will help to provide over 2500 hunger-free weekends for schoolchildren during the 2025-2026 school year. We are proud to support the Frederick community from the proceeds of our Signature Races.

We have closed the books on the 2025 Frederick Summer Solstice 8K and we are very pleased to announce that the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club has raised net race proceeds of $12,791 for Blessings in a Backpack Frederick Chapter.

Participant instructions have been emailed to registered participants and posted to the race website. Please especially note that participants are advised to shelter in their vehicles in the event of thunder/lightning. While we are hopeful that any storms skirt around the race site, it is possible that a storm at just the wrong time could delay the race start. Watch this space for real-time announcements.
