The Hippocampus is directly affected in patients with age related neurological decline. š§
The Hippocampus, is an area of the cerebral cortex portion of your brain that helps new memories form. Damage to the brain eventually causes problems with memory, intelligence, judgment, language, and behavior changes. Alzheimer's is the most common form of mental decline in older adults.
I personally feel that 150 minutes of exercise a week, although beneficial for all adults, is not enough. I think an hour of exercise at least 5 days a week is a goal that adults should strive for. That works out to 300 minutes a week, twice as much as recommended. .
Another way of looking at it is...spending 5 hours a week for exercise would require only 3% of our time. .
