Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad

Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad We are an independent, non profit, all volunteer organization providing free Emergency Medical Servi In the year 2008 the squad responded to over 1400 calls.

We, the members of the squad, are all volunteers , community members, and most importantly, your friends and neighbors. We take great pride in delivering free Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Rescue assistance to the residents of Wall Township , and providing EMS support to the Glendola and West Belmar Fire Companies. The Wall Township First Aid & Rescue Squad relies on individuals, like yourself, who reside in the township, to help make a difference in a person’s life by being part of a team that provides basic life support in an Emergency Medical Service to your neighbors, friends and relatives. A Registered Nurse, receptionist, a medical sales executive, a company director, a school bus driver, a police officer, a fitness consultant, and a retired school teacher are just some of your neighbors who volunteer their time to help save a life. Dedicated squad members, all volunteers, are lead by a team of officers with a wealth of experience in Emergency Medical Services and provide the knowledge and leadership necessary to maintain the highest standards in patient care in your community. Do not confuse the term volunteer with amateur. Our members are all qualified to perform their duties, and dedicate themselves to maintaining and enhancing their skills. To just ride on an ambulance all members must be certified in Cardio- Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and be trained in awareness of hazardous materials, the emergency services incident command system, and awareness of weapons of mass destruction. (The latter was mandated by the State in response to the events of 9/11). All drivers are coached in the operation of emergency vehicles. Members that have contact with patients are all Basic Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT-Bs) certified by the State of New Jersey to perform their duties, some are additionally certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. In addition many of our members have taken more advanced level training in Pediatric care, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, and Assisting Paramedics. Some of our members through their experience and skill have become certified as instructors and teach in the EMT program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center .

🎆 Happy Independence Day from Wall First Aid and Rescue Squad! 🇺🇸

As we come together to celebrate the Fourth of July, we want everyone to have a safe and fun holiday. Here are some important safety tips to keep in mind:

✅ Fireworks: Leave fireworks to the professionals. If you’re using legal fireworks, follow instructions carefully and keep water nearby.
✅ Grilling: Never leave the grill unattended, and keep it away from your home, deck railings, and overhanging branches.
✅ Stay Hydrated: It’s hot out there — drink plenty of water and take breaks in the shade.
✅ Watch the Kids: Keep a close eye on children near fireworks, grills, and pools.
✅ Drive Safely: If you’re traveling, plan ahead, don’t rush, and never drive under the influence.

🚑 Our crews are standing by this holiday to keep our community safe. Have a happy and healthy Independence Day!

A prolonged period of high heat is expected in our area over the coming days. Please take precautions to stay safe and healthy during this time.

☀️ Heat Safety Tips:
• Stay hydrated — drink plenty of water, even if you’re not thirsty.
• Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day.
• Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.
• Never leave children or pets in a parked car — even for a minute.
• Use fans or air conditioning to stay cool, or visit a cooling center if needed.
• Take cool showers or baths to lower body temperature.

❤️ Check on Others:
Take a moment to check in on elderly neighbors, young children, and those with medical conditions — they’re especially vulnerable during extreme heat.

💙 April is Autism Awareness Month! 💙
At Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad, we proudly stand with the autism community. This month, we’re not only raising awareness — we’re promoting acceptance, understanding, and compassion for individuals on the spectrum and their families.
🚑 To show our support, we’ve created a special Wall First Aid Autism Awareness logo, proudly featuring the iconic puzzle ribbon at the heart of our emblem. This symbol reflects our commitment to inclusive care and our dedication to serving all members of our community with dignity and respect.
We're lighting it up blue, wearing blue, and continuing our mission to be trained, ready, and aware. Together, we can build a more understanding and supportive world.
