SERVICES :: Our service is a medical marihuana testing process specifically designed to test for potency as well as contaminates. Together, we will create a community dialogue, sharing knowledge goodwill which is fundamental in allowing patients safe and correct choices. WHY WE TEST
LEARNING CURVE :: IRON Laboratories will offer a variety of tests to profile samples of medical marihuana at an affordable price working to help club members profile potency and contaminates for use for both growing and purchasing medical marihuana. Our analytical methodology offers potency testing of THC, CBD, and CBN. Microscopic inspection will allow staff and members to identify presence of pests or molds. BUILDING CONFIDENCE :: IRON Laboratories utilizes new and top of the line screening equipment. However equipment is only as good as the chemist. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE FUTURE :: As we build our community we will offer additional testing and services to include pesticide presence and more. Random comparison testing using like-kind equipment will add validation to the process. HOW WE TEST
IRON Laboratories members are the beneficiaries of a testing process that emulates the science involved in cannabis activation. Our testing methodology utilizes Gas Chromatography. We are not proponents of Liquid Chromatography because liquid Chromatography does not use heat. Heat allows marihuana to go through decarboxylation, a chemical process necessary to ascertain the proper amount of CBD and THC absorbed in the body. Decarboxylation is effected through vaporizing, smoking, or cooking marihuana; all exposed to heat. Gas Chromatography is the gold standard for the quantification of cannabinoids utilized by the United Nations Office On Drugs and Crime and the National Institute On Drug Abuse. CONTAMINATES :: Often times our tests find the presence of medical marihuana contaminates. Microbiological contaminates such as bacteria and molds are invisible to the eye but are unhealthy if not life threatening to some patients. The presence of microorganisms, moisture, mold, mildew, fungi will be identified utilizing a high powered microscope for the patient, caregiver, and dispensary. This knowledge could prevent a detrimental effect for the caregiver. This knowledge can be used in a self- directed program for mitigation and eradication. SHARING :: Club members including dispensaries, patients, and caregivers will receive photo analysis, potency profiles, sample cards, dependent on their individuals needs. These test results will be shared with club members through email, fax, or in person at our laboratory. WHAT WE NEED TO TEST :: We provide free sample kits for the proper amount necessary for our analytical methodology. This sample kit includes a sealing vile (please fill vile with sample meds), envelope for security, and labeling for results. The amount of sample required for edibles testing needs to be discussed with our laboratory staff. In order for club members to utilize our “strain” library, the type of strain should be indicated on the envelope.
