This month, Family Ties is helping raise awareness about Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) — a mental health condition that can cause unwanted, repeated thoughts (called obsessions) and repetitive actions or habits (called compulsions).
OCD is about trying to manage strong worries or fears. These thoughts and actions can be hard to control, but with help and support, people with OCD can feel better. At Family Ties, we believe that understanding brings kindness.
When we learn more about OCD, we can help reduce stigma and support individuals and families on their path toward healing and hope.

October is Depression Awareness Month. At Family Ties, we want to share the 3 C’s that can help build emotional awareness and resilience:
1. Catch – Notice your negative or hurtful thoughts or emotions.
2. Check – Pause and ask yourself, “Is this thought true or helpful?”
3. Change – Replace unhelpful thoughts with ones that are helpful, realistic, and encouraging.

Steps like these can make a big difference for our mental health. Remember — awareness is the first step toward healing.
If you or someone you know is struggling with depression, support is available:
