🎿🏂 First Adaptive Ski & Snowboard Outing of the Season! ❄️

We had an amazing day at Ski Sundown with Summit Adaptive Sports for our first outing of the season! From first-time skiers and snowboarders to our returning riders, everyone had a blast on the slopes. 🙌

And we were especially psyched that the rain held out, making it a great day to ski and ride! ⛷️✨

Huge thanks to our partners and participants for kicking off the season in the best way possible—we can’t wait for the next one!

What a great afternoon at Rogue Fencing Academy for our Wheelchair Fencing Clinic! Everyone had the chance to try wheelchair fencing and get hands-on experience in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Huge thanks to our incredible coaching team — 2024 Paralympic athlete Victoria Isaacson, 2025 World Championship (8th place!) Sandra Marchant, and U.S. Parafencing National Head Coach Eric Soyka — for sharing their expertise and making this clinic such a success.

Thank you to Rogue Fencing Academy for hosting and helping us grow adaptive sport opportunities in our community!

What started as a small program with six sports has grown into 17 adaptive sports serving over 250 participants each year, including sled hockey, rock climbing, golf, and triathlons.

Karen Smith, diagnosed with MS in 1990, refused to let her diagnosis stop her from skiing. Today she manages the sled hockey team and helps others discover their own abilities.

Tara O’Neil, a bilateral amputee, never imagined she could compete. She now rock climbs, water skis, snowboards, bikes, and participates in triathlons.

Thanks to the vision of Ken Murphy and the dedication of staff such as Todd Munn and Katie Joly, the Ga***rd Sports Association has grown into a thriving community where anyone with a passion for sports can participate regardless of ability.

Here is to 30 years of courage, community, and competition and many more to come!

This CT rehabilitation hospital has offered adaptive sports from golf to sled hockey to rock climbing for the last 30 years.
