Many women in addiction don't just struggle with substances—they struggle with shame, false hope, and dangerous situations they'd never choose sober. I know, because I lived it.

After years of recovery, I still got hijacked by old triggers—until I found a body-based approach that actually worked. No more white-knuckling. No more reliving the past. Just learning to Ride the Wave of discomfort and land in a place of ease.

This one's for every woman who has ever stayed too long, hoped too hard, or silenced her own pain to survive. You are not alone—and healing is possible.

This comment really struck me: “Workshops that actually change how you live your life.

Last month I ran my online Anger & Anxiety Workshop, and two participants shared experiences that stayed with me.

Marlene came to the Anger & Anxiety Workshop feeling overwhelmed by her emotions. She left with powerful, hands-on tools to understand what triggers her anxiety and anger, and tools she knows she’ll use for the rest of her life.

Mary is beginning to notice the moment before she snaps. Through this work, she’s learning to see her reactions, soften her nervous system, and choose a different response even when someone pushes her buttons. She’s remembering that she’s worthy of good care, and that she gets to be a human being, not just a human doing.

This is what becomes possible when we bring gentle awareness, somatic tools, and trauma-informed support to our anger and anxiety: less reactivity, more choice, and a softer way of being with your Self.

If this is the kind of shift you’re longing for, send me a message or visit the link in my bio to learn more about upcoming workshops and 1:1 coaching.

Ever feel like you’re stuck in a cycle, repeating old patterns no matter how much you want to change? That’s what I call the “doom loop”, and trust me, I lived there for years. I’d wake up, go through the motions, and wonder why nothing ever really changed, even after giving up my vices.

What I finally learned is this: Real freedom didn’t come just from stopping the habits on the surface. It came when I got honest about what I was feeling, faced those old sensations I’d been running from, and connected deeply with myself, even when it was uncomfortable. That’s when the loop broke. That’s when life became something I could actually live, fully, freely, without that old weight holding me down.

If you’re ready to break your own cycles and want a real, gentle path forward, I invite you to grab my book, Beyond Recovery.

Your new beginning could start today.

If you talked to a friend the way you talk to yourself on a hard day… would you trust you?

Most of us learned to motivate with criticism, not kindness. But your nervous system doesn’t soften under attack – it tightens, shuts down, and prepares to survive, not to heal.

Kindness as Self‑Care looks like:
- Noticing the harsh voice and gently questioning it
- Asking, “What do I need right now?” instead of “What’s wrong with me?”
- Letting your body exhale before you demand one more thing from it

This is the work I support clients with in somatic, trauma‑informed coaching: learning to turn that inner critic into an inner ally, so your body can finally feel a little safer on the inside.

If you’re ready to practice this, send me a DM with the word KINDNESS and I’ll share how we can work together.

Have you ever realized how our low self-esteem sometimes benefits others more than it benefits us?

I look back and see all the moments I held myself back, let others decide for me, simply because I didn't value myself enough.

Honest question...

Imagine what could shift if you start making choices from a place of self-worth. 💙✨

When your nervous system is on high alert, “kindness” can quietly turn into a survival strategy instead of a genuine impulse.

There is nothing wrong with you. That’s your survival system doing its best to protect you.

I’d love to hear from you: Where does “transactional kindness” show up in your life? Share in the comments if you feel called.

I used to confuse “𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦” with being 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦. My kindness was transactional: if you liked me, maybe I’d survive the day.

Today, after deep healing, my nervous system is calmer and I can genuinely see others, not just scan for danger.

𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐋𝐢𝐅𝐄 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 helps you shift from survival-mode kindness to authentic, body-based compassion—without having to re-live your story.

Comment “𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐅𝐓” if you want that freedom.

There was a time when my “kindness” wasn’t really kindness at all—it was survival.

If you liked me, maybe I was safer. I wasn’t mean—I was scared, overwhelmed, and my nervous system was always on high alert. I couldn’t really see other people.

With recovery, 12-step work, and somatic healing, I started practicing being “other-centered” on purpose—doing kind things quietly, without needing a gold star. As my system calmed, I had more bandwidth to notice others and care from a genuine place, not from fear or people-pleasing.

Now, kindness is part of my Self-care: asking, “How can I be supportive?” and honoring my own boundaries at the same time.

If this resonates, I dive deeper into this in my latest blog post, Kindness as Self-Care. I’d love for you to read and see what lands for you.
