✨New Blog Post✨
Some stories don’t end when the session does.
In this blog, I’m sharing what it’s like to hold space for trauma—the moments that linger, the ways I stay grounded, and why this work, even in its heaviness, is so deeply meaningful.
If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like on the therapist’s side of the couch, this one’s for you.

✨ The Holidays and Grief ✨

The holiday season is often a time of joy, but it can also bring up feelings of grief and loss for many. Whether it’s missing loved ones, coping with life changes, or carrying unspoken sadness, it’s completely normal to experience a mix of emotions during this time.

🌟 Grief during the holidays can manifest in various ways:
- Missing someone who is no longer here
- Navigating family changes
- Feeling the weight of multiple losses this year
- Mourning something unspoken, such as a miscarriage or an estranged relationship

It’s important to honor your feelings and allow space for them. Here are some gentle ways to care for yourself:
🌿 Create a small ritual to honor those you miss.
🌿 Adjust traditions to fit your needs this year.
🌿 Seek connections with supportive people.
🌿 Take breaks from the holiday hustle.

✨ Reminder: Grief is a form of love. It’s okay to feel it all. You are not alone.

Let’s create space for both joy and healing this season. 💛

Today, four years ago, I passed my LMFT exam, marking the start of an incredible journey. In my late 30s, I took a leap, returned to school, graduated, and began my second career. It’s never too late to chase your dreams! I’m so grateful to do work I love every day, and I’m passionate about helping other new therapists start their own practices. Here’s to growth, learning, and supporting each other along the way! 🌟✨

**Warm Hearts, Warm Feet! 🧦💙**

As the cold months approach, many people in our unsheltered community face harsh conditions with limited resources. Socks are one of the most requested yet least donated items for those experiencing homelessness. Let’s change that together!

I am collecting new socks to help NAMI Contra Costa distribute to individuals in need, particularly those living with mental health challenges. Did you know that 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experiences a mental health condition each year? Many people facing homelessness also deal with mental health issues, making it even more difficult for them to access stability and care. Something as simple as warm socks can provide comfort, dignity, and a sense of care during these tough times.

📦 **How to Help:**
1️⃣ Drop off new socks: Send me a direct message or contact me to coordinate drop-off.
2️⃣ Venmo -villena or zelle (my phone number) to contribute, and I will purchase the socks for you.
3️⃣ Spread the word—share this post with friends and family.

🗓️ **Deadline:** December 20, 2024

Together, we can meet basic needs and show compassion to those who need it most. Thank you for your generosity! 💙

Warm Hearts, Warm Feet! 🧦💙
As the cold months settle in, many in our unsheltered community face harsh conditions with limited resources. Socks are one of the most requested yet least donated items for those experiencing homelessness. Let’s change that together!

Every pair makes a difference, providing comfort, warmth, and dignity to someone this winter.

Together, we can make a big impact, one pair of socks at a time. Thank you for your kindness and support! 💕
