🛡️ Standing Up for Seniors

Independent agents know their clients — their health needs, their medications, their doctors — and they’re uniquely equipped to guide Medicare beneficiaries through confusing and often stressful changes in coverage.

Unfortunately, current CMS rules often prevent agents from assisting during Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs) triggered by major network disruptions — moments when beneficiaries need their help the most. Without access to their trusted agent, seniors are left navigating complex plan options alone or with someone unfamiliar with their unique circumstances.

NABIP is urging CMS to modernize its process so seniors can continue to receive the personalized support, informed guidance, and continuity of care they deserve from the professionals they already know and trust.
