There is a unique experiment conducted to see if greyhounds could compete with the speed of a cheetah. When the cages opened, folks were shocked that the cheetah didn't move. They asked the race coordinator what had happened and why the cheetah didn’t move.
His response:
“Sometimes trying to prove that you're the best is an insult to your self-worth. There is no need to lower yourself to other people’s level to make them understand your skills, qualities and contributions.
It is better to use your energy for more worthy endeavours.
A cheetah uses its speed to hunt, not to prove to dogs that it is faster and stronger. Don't waste your time and energy proving your value to folks who simply don’t possess the skill set to appreciate your value and worth. Move on.”
Great advice that will transform your career, life, and those around you.

Injury rehab is one of the most mentally challenging things to go through. Here is a great research review on the best mental skills to use during and after injury. Check out the Top 3 skills below.
Also you can check out our bio for some more helpful tips on mental skills training.
1) Imagery - if you can see it you can do it! This is the most fundamental and useful mental skill for injury rehab. Close your eyes and imagine yourself playing your sport with ease and freedom. Seeing yourself moving freely and healthy increases your confidence and improves the neuro-communication between mind and body, so that when you do get back your mind and body aren’t rusty and you can get back to playing your best faster.
2) Goal-setting - this is the road map to success when it comes to injury rehab. Consider setting a weekly goal and daily actions that align your efforts to achieve that weekly goal. Have a once a week check in to recap your efforts and plan for the next week.
3) Relaxation- regulating your energy level is a massively important aspect to injury rehab! By focusing on relaxing your mind and body you speed up healing, increase positive neuro chemicals, and increase your resilience during the arduous rehab process. Try using the 4x4x4 breathing exercise; breathe in for 4 seconds, hold in your belly for 4 seconds, and release slowly for 4 seconds, repeat for 7-10 minutes and add thoughts about things your grateful for to increase the positivity and relaxation.

Great article from
These 9 behaviors are nothing profound or extreme. They do not require any major expertise or qualification.
What these 9 behaviors do require though is a effort and time. If your willing to try and dedicate the time then your life will drastically improve.
I think number 1, 5 and 9 are the most critical. If your gonna start implementing any of these, start there!

What you read is what you become.
Greatness requires consuming greatness in all forms.
You can’t expect greatness if what you read, hear, and think is negative. A simple step to begin acting great is change what you read. Instead of pointless and mindless threads, read a biography of a great leader or athlete. Becoming great requires consuming great.

My name is Christyan Gudjenov, owner of Mental Strength Performance, LLC. One of the most powerful experiences I have had was watching a TED talk by Simon Sinek (it is a very popular one, if you have not seen it, there is a link at the bottom). In this talk, Sinek says that many individuals and companies know WHAT they do or offer, some know HOW they do that, but not many know WHY they do it. This concept was incredibly motivating for me and over the past 4 years since I have seen that video, I have allowed this concept to change my life and influence everything I do.
What I do is provide performance consulting to individuals and teams focused on utilizing mental skills to increase performance. How I do this is in private sessions or group workshops focused on training, participation, and accountability. WHY I do it is because I want to feel the gratification and satisfaction from helping people be better after they met me than before they met me. My WHY is selfishly selfless. I genuinely want to help you be better, I chase that feeling of satisfaction from knowing that someone was bettered because of me and my work. It is all about legacy, I want my legacy to be enshrined not on trophies or awards but on people. I want people to be bettered by me and my work. The process of attaining satisfaction is WHY I started MSP, and it is WHY I DO WHAT I DO.
THE WHAT AND HOW of MSP:
MSP is performance consulting company focused on helping individuals and teams increase their performance through a focus on mental strength training. I help people develop and utilize skills like intrinsic motivation, growth mindset, getting and staying in the zone, and a lot more that we will talk about. I believe that athletes and business people receive a lot of training and attention on technical, tactical, and physical skills. I believe that these skills are crucial for success on the field, board room, and daily life. However, I believe that there is a missing link in performance training. That missing link is what MSP is focused on bringing. That link is a concentrated and focused attention to the mental side of performance through individual sessions and group workshops. Through training, education, and practice I can help you learn what specific mental skills can help you, how they can help increase your performance, and how to use them on a daily basis.
THE WHY of MSP:
Many athletes and business people fail not because of physical skill or limitations but of mental weakness. I believe that in sports and business we have to include the mental side of performance in our training and development. I believe athletes and business people NEED to train their minds in order to achieve peak performance. I want to be your mental strength coach, I want to help you develop a mental six-pack! I believe that mental strength training is the missing link in daily peak performance.
MSP exists to connect that missing link to your daily performance. I believe that by training our minds we can increase our overall daily performance, feel better about ourselves, and be more likely to find satisfaction in our performance. It is all about the process of getting a little better every day by focusing on doing the next right thing.
Is developing your mental strength the next right thing?
