When Jeremy joined Fresenius Medical Care in 2020 as a Pre-Licensed Nurse (PLN), he was balancing more than just a new role. A retired Chief Navy Deepsea Diver, he was adjusting to life after military service, facing major health challenges, and beginning a new chapter with his family — all during a global pandemic.

Jeremy’s story is one of resilience, growth, and leadership through change. The lessons he learned in the Navy — teamwork, courage, and perseverance — continue to guide him today as a Clinical Manager leading one of the top-performing centers in Arizona.

Starting as a PLN gave Jeremy hands-on experience, confidence, and mentorship that built the foundation for his success. “Be open, stay curious, and step into challenges,” he shares. “Growth doesn’t happen without discomfort — but the rewards are worth it.”

At Fresenius Medical Care, we’re proud to support new nurses like Jeremy through our PLN Program — helping them grow into leaders who make a lasting impact on patients and care teams alike.

As we recognize Dialysis Technician Week, we celebrate professionals like Loriann who combine technical expertise with compassion — transforming lives through every connection, every treatment, and every day of care.

Meet Loriann, a Regional Technical Operations Manager with 31 years of experience in dialysis. Her career journey is driven by purpose, compassion, and a lifelong connection to the care we provide.

Loriann’s path began with a personal connection: her father was a dialysis patient in the 1970s, and witnessing his care inspired her to dedicate her own career to making a difference for others. Today, she leads and mentors technical teams, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality care and that every center operates safely and efficiently.

Her favorite part of the job? The people.

“Taking a moment to chat with patients, answer questions, or explain how their equipment is maintained reinforces the ‘why’ of what I do every day. It empowers them with knowledge and builds trust — letting them know the patient always comes first.”

When Micah walks into the operating room, the focus is clear — a patient’s life is in trusted hands. As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Azura Vascular Care, a division of Fresenius Medical Care, Micah provides more than anesthesia — he provides calm, confidence, and care to patients during their most vulnerable moments.

Micah joined Fresenius Medical Care in 2023, drawn to the warmth of the people and the shared sense of purpose that defines the organization. “What attracted me to the company were the people and the culture. Everyone truly cares — about their patients and each other.”

That culture of compassion is what fuels Micah’s commitment every day. CRNAs at Fresenius Medical Care play an essential role in providing safe, high-quality anesthesia care to patients receiving life-sustaining treatments. It’s demanding work that requires precision, but also deep empathy — a balance Micah has mastered through teamwork, experience, and dedication.

“In our centers, we see the impact of our work in real time. Patients walk in anxious and leave comforted, cared for, and ready to heal. That’s powerful.”

Beyond the clinical environment, Micah values the flexibility and support that come from being part of a team that understands the importance of work-life balance. “The company gives me flexibility by understanding that life outside of work matters too. That makes it easier to give my best every day.”

Outside of work, Micah enjoys spending time with family and finding moments to recharge — recognizing that caring for others starts with caring for oneself.

At Fresenius Medical Care, CRNAs like Micah are shaping the future of kidney care — combining skill and heart to make a lasting difference. We’re proud to celebrate Micah and all the CRNAs who bring comfort, courage, and compassion to every patient, every day.
