January 25, 2026

Considering the winter storm, road conditions and most recent forecasts, most Delaware County office buildings will be closed from 6AM until 6PM on Monday January 26, 2026. However, Delaware County NY Department of Public Works workers, Delaware County Sheriff's Office personnel, buildings and ground employees, and Delaware County (NY) Department of Emergency Services/911 staff will be reporting as scheduled to handle all emergencies essential operations, and road clearing. This measure is being taken to ensure the safety of all county employees and Delaware County residents.

Due to the nature and duration of the storm, the cold temperatures and timing of impacts it is necessary to take these precautions to allow for state, county and local road crews to safely clear the roads. Considering Governor Hochul’s State of Emergency declaration, I encourage all Delaware County residents to avoid any unnecessary travel until the storm ends and roads can be cleared. If you experience an emergency, please contact 911 and our emergency personnel, sheriffs’ deputies, local police and local fire departments will assist you.

Delaware County Behavioral Health is staffed with a team of professional certified counselors and clinical workers that are ready to help, whether you are in need of mental health or addiction counseling services. With both Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services and Mental Health departments housed under one roof, ease of access to county behavioral health services has never been more streamlined.

More than 42 million Americans rely on SNAP benefits to feed themselves and their families. Here in Delaware County, approximately 4,400 individuals — nearly 10% of our population — depend on this assistance. These are our neighbors, friends, coworkers, and family members. Please consider donating or contact your local food bank and ask how you can help.

Also please be aware of the Delaware County Food Drive organized by DSS, and stop by the County office building at 111 Main Street, Delhi, or our Behavioral Health Clinic at 243 Delaware Street, Walton with your non-perishable food donations. Collected items will be distributed to local food banks.
