Yoga got a little spooky last night in Wamego!

18 months ago I opened a yoga studio in Wamego, but the process of starting a new business began far before September 2022. Months in advance, I approached my bank and took out a small operating loan that I used to secure a NetWork Kansas e-community loan and a Patterson grant through my county’s EcoDevo Corp (Pottawatomie County Economic Development Corporation). With coaching from and the support of the community, I knew I would succeed in Wamego.
Today I was given an award for “my commitment to the county’s growth” from PCEDC, and gosh, really, it was my county—all my friends and neighbors—who committed to my growth.
I owe debts of gratitude to and for the space we share at a rent that I can afford. Thank you and for teaching alongside me. Thank you Kaw Valley State Bank for getting me started, and thank you to the board members of PCEDC—Lanny Bosse, Chris Eichman, Dave Perry, Terry Force, Josh Marquardt, fellow yogi Kristin Brighton, Korey Klingenberg, Casey Butler, Peter Clark, Pete Reilly, Amanda Childress, Patrick Schutter, David Cancelada, Michael Solida, Chad Kinsley, and Jason Smith. Thank you Jack Allston, Shanna Goodman, and Jessica Venneberg for all that you have done and continue to do for our community. And special thanks to my husband Jake Pugh for encouraging me. 🧘🏻‍♀️💗🤸🏼

Private island, yoga, snorkeling, yummy food, sea kayaking, fishing, relaxing, and good people. We have a few spots left for our Panama Retreat this summer. ☀️ Up earlier these days due to Daylight Savings? Don’t toss and turn in bed! Join us for Sunrise Yoga. Wednesdays and Fridays 6am in Wamego. 45 minutes to move and stretch, then off to have a better day because you did!

Bakasana—Crow Pose 🐦‍⬛ strengthening the body, building endurance, gaining mental focus… it’s not about how high your toes lift, it’s about engaging in the practice as merit. Yoga for yoga’s sake. A simple lesson from a challenging pose.

In reflection of the waning crescent moon in the sky, today’s class was full of anjanyasana—crescent pose. Balance, focus, and lengthened hip flexors are some benefits of holding your body in this shape. Breathe!🌙
