Meet Jennifer Lisowe, MD, board-certified dermatologist at Olmsted Medical Center. Dr. Lisowe has been with OMC since 2013 and provides care for both adult and pediatric patients. She specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin conditions and offers a variety of in-office procedures such as excisions of skin cancers and benign lesions, cyst and lipoma removal, and injections.

Dr. Lisowe says, “One of the things I think is really important is to have that personal connection. I like to make an effort to get to know my patients and connect with them so that I can better hear their story and how their skin disease is impacting their life."

Outside of work, Dr. Lisowe enjoys riding her horse through the forest—one of her favorite ways to unwind and recharge.

It was on a hot summer day, on July 15, 1949, when Hal Wente, MD, opened his solo practice in the Lawler building in downtown Rochester. It was on this day that the first chapter of our story was written and the day that our journey to provide exceptional patient-centered care began. In the years that followed, Dr. Wente’s practice grew from a one-person family medicine practice into a multi-specialty practice that has been at the forefront of the delivery of medical care. From day one, he put the patient first and devoted his career to providing personalized, convenient, high-quality healthcare. Skipping ahead 75 plus years, Olmsted Medical Center has grown to over 1,400 caregivers, serving just under 100,000 patients a year at 23 locations, including 12 community clinics throughout southeastern Minnesota. OMC offers more than 35 specialties and, in 2024, performed over 4,000 major surgical procedures, cared for over 25,000 patients in our emergency department, and delivered nearly 1,000 babies.

July is UV Safety Awareness Month! ☀️ Did you know that most skin cancers are caused by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or indoor tanning?

Here are some quick, smart ways to protect your skin every day:

👒 Cover up with a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and protective clothing
