So many fun activities lately with Lily! The residents have had Movie Mondays and have watched Dr. Dolittle and Hocus Pocus. They had a few walking activities that included I Spy outside when we had the sunshine! They had a cute craft day making a candy corn people, and listened to a presentation today about plant and tree life. Lily studied Environmental Science in college, so this presentation was very beneficial!
Thank you Lily for all the fun lately!

The bonus Friday activity today was making Fuzzy Sock Pumpkins! The residents got to choose a sock of their liking, then got to fill it with stuffing. They tied it together and made segments with twine and/or yarn. What a fun activity and a small decoration the residents can keep in their room for the fall season! Thank you to Donna Johnson for finding the idea and to staff for guiding the residents through the activity!

What a busy week for the residents with activities. Lily had a mini carnival outside on the back patio. The residents participated in a ring toss game that Lily made, and worked on their aim with a hole in one game. She even tried to make animals out of balloons for each resident!
And to celebrate World Mental Health Day, Mykala had the perfect activity for the residents/staff to make a Tree of Life. Each section of the tree represents different qualities/aspects within your life. What a wonderful way for the residents to think about all their unique characteristics!

This week the residents have been very busy with activities. They have done a lot of painting, such as painting rocks and decorating pumpkins. Lily turned the pumpkin paintings into a little contest to see which 3 were very well liked by other residents/staff. Our 1st place was Sugie, 2nd place was Ramona, and 3rd place was Bonnie! But look how cute all of the pumpkins turned out!
The residents made paper airplanes and had a race to see whose flew the farthest, the winner was Eunice! They even played balloon tennis this morning which they really enjoyed. So many wonderful and creative activities this week!

For their Friday activity this week, the residents decorated more into fall! They did stain glass decorating on the activity room windows and look how cute it turned out! A big thank you to our extra helpers, Madi, Cayley, and Skyla for coming in to help the residents and to Jess and Lily for creating the Halloween designs. What a creative and fun activity!

Auburn Ridge Luau! The residents spent their morning having a Luau and getting dressed up in hoola skirts. They played games such as Hawaii Trivia, Luau Word Puzzle, Ring the Watermelon, and got to see what their Hawaiian name would be! Lily made homemade piña coladas (non alcoholic) with fresh fruit and Jess made a delicious Hawaiian style lunch: Glazed Chicken Thighs, Macaroni Salad, Chip, and Tropical Fruit. The residents got to vote and decided to enjoy their lunch in the activity room sitting close to each other. Even though we celebrated inside, the residents had a lot of fun at their Luau!

The residents had a special guest come in this week. Lily’s mom, Dee Ann has been a beekeeper for many years and came in for a presentation of what her job entails. The residents got to learn about different types of bees/wasps and what their jobs are when it comes to their hives. She even brought in some honey for them to try and keep! They ended the week by watching the Bee Movie to put all the information they learned together! A big thank you to Dee for coming in to share about bees!

Pajama Day! What better way than to wake up, roll out of bed, and be ready for the day already?! The residents got to wear their PJs all day if they wanted to, and had the joy of watching a sing-a-long version of The Little Mermaid to go with the cozy day. Look how cute they are!

This week’s Friday activity was doing a craft to help bring in the fall season. The residents made a little pumpkin out of orange puzzle pieces, and got to pick out different leaves and a stem to put on top. Each resident created their own pumpkin design, so each one was very unique! Thank you to our staff, Phyllis and Adi, for finding this cute idea. The residents had a lot of fun making these!

So many fun activities lately to keep the residents busy! Lily has had some painting and playing Pictionary. She had a good group participate in doing some chair exercises, and did some more baking yesterday. The residents put together a Strawberry Pudding dessert from scratch which they had for dinner. How yummy!

Auburn Ridge Living Center

We are a licensed Residential Care Facility. We are not a nursing home. Our Residential Care Facility holds only 18 residents which allows us to provide a very personal and intimate home-like setting. It also allows us to get to know each and every one of our residents. We provide private living quarters, 49" television with dish network, 3 home cooked meals a day, housekeeping, laundry, 24 hour supervision, and assistance with basic activities. We also provide assistance with showers if needed. We administer medications and handle refilling prescriptions and provide transportation to and from doctors appointments. We have an activities program to keep our residents active, and we spend one on one time with our Residents to keep them company. We have an in house beauty salon if they choose to use. Our goal is to encourage our residents to be as independent as possible, yet keep them safe in doing so with the integrity they deserve. We encourage visitors to come often. Play cards, share a meal, or just sit and spend time with them. We hope to give the families of our Residents peace of mind that their loved one is well care for and in a healthy and safe environment. Please call Gina at 573-301-1616 if you would like a tour or just stop by anytime! We are located in Wardsville Missouri (1425 Ashbury Way, Wardsville, Missouri 65101)
