Becareful of the scammers: (From Keith)

I was at our store yesterday working on a project with Kevin and Hal hands me the store phone and say's: "It's a guy saying the electric will be turned off at 2PM if we don't pay the late bill."

I take the phone and the guy tells me he's from Eversource and our bill hasn't been paid and the electric is scheduled to be shut off at 2PM and I got a letter telling me this. I explain I never got such a letter and to my knowledge our bill is paid. He starts demanding that the bill needs to get paid. I tell him the person that deals with those things is here and I will put him on the phone.

Kevin takes the phone and asks the guy what our account number is for our electric. The guy refuses to tell Kevin. Kevin tells him that we don't have Eversource and if we did the guy should know what our account number is and be able to tell us to prove he is from where he claims. The guy insists we pay the bill and refuses to tell Kevin our account number saying he doesn't have to. Kevin tells the guy he knows that he is trying to scam us and our bill is current. The guy starts screaming at Kevin over the phone to pay the bill.

I literally went online to make sure we didn't have Eversource and our next bill isn't due until the end of the month.

What the holy hell is with the scammers these days.
