We provide personalized service and take great pride in helping you select frames that fit your needs, personality and face shape. We’ve been in the optical business for over 20 years because of our commitment to outstanding re-lensing quality and customer service. We also provide lens cutting and finishing services to other opticians who need these professional services. Our on-site lens lab gives us the flexibility that an ordinary eye center cannot provide. We can offer a fast turnaround time without compromising the accuracy of your prescription. When you order glasses from a chain store provider, your eyeglasses can pass through a dozen or more hands before they return. Crafting Quality Lenses Since 1992 - Our family owned and operated optometric lab has excelled in the industry since 1992. It is our commitment to material selection, quality and customer service which has helped us to flourish in this highly competitive market for decades. At Wohl Optics, your glasses are custom crafted and fitted by the same optician who helped you choose your frame and lenses. No other optical center offers this degree of precision and personalized attention. If you have frames that need replacement lenses or repair, bring them on in. If you are a distance, send them in; we can help you with a mail order. Our goal is to provide you with dedicated and friendly service. If you have a prescription already, that's great. We're here to fill it for you. We welcome walk-ins. We always take precise measurements to determine the pupillary distance (PD), or distance between your pupils, and the ocular center (OC) height. The OC height is the center of the lens vertically from the bottom of the lens to the center of the pupil. An accurate PD measurement, in conjunction with an accurate OC height measurement, is needed to properly place the lenses in your frames so that the ocular center (the area that gives you the truest vision) is directly in front of your pupils. There's an emerging trend to use automated machines to take optical measurements. We've tested these machines and determined that they do not achieve the same accurate results as a highly skilled optician, who not only takes measurements, but also uses their professional experience to evaluate your fitting needs based on many parameters that a machine cannot discern, such as your posture. The human element should not be dismissed from the eyeglasses consultation process. Count on Wohl Optics to measure your eyes for the prescription eyeglass lenses that are right for you. Proper fit for your glasses is the final touch to ensuring better vision after your eye exam. Today, many eyeglass prescriptions are for bifocals or progressive lenses. Proper fitting with accurate lens alignment is the key to achieving the best vision from the eye doctor’s prescription. If you are new to bi-focal or progressive lenses, you will find that they work for you right away and you won't have to "get used to them." Unlike most retail stores or chain stores you find in a mall, we have extensive experience with all new lens technologies as well as decades of training and knowledge manufacturing, repairing and finishing all things optical-related. WOHL OPTICS HISTORY
Wohl Optics originally started business as a wholesale lens laboratory serving optometrists and opticians in the Philadelphia area. During this time, we grew the Optical Lab to a point where we could not only provide for the eye care professional, but also pass those savings on to the public as well. Our in-house optical lab means we take responsibility for each and every pair of your lenses and frames.
