Too many clients are taking out their frustrations on our team. Please understand that we are a medical facility. We have very strict laws, rules and regulations we have to abide by. There is never an excuse to be disrespectful or unkind to anyone just because you don't like the answer or agree with a process. Our hospital will NOT tolerate verbal, physical, or emotional abuse. We will be closed on Monday 9/1 for the Labor day holiday. We will reopen at 8:30 am on Tuesday September 2. If you have an emergency over the long weekend please Call Middle Georgia Veterinary Emergency Center located on Russell Parkway at 478-997-6677. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday!!

We will be closed for Labor Day, this coming Monday, but we still have openings this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday if your pet needs to be seen. Don't be caught out by the long weekend if you need something for your pet!

Hey everyone! Just a quick update: my husband has been helping me all summer with bathing dogs, but he starts his new job within the next couple of weeks. That means it'll just be me again, so I'll be moving a little slower and taking fewer appointments. I really appreciate your patience and ask that you try to book ahead when you can, so I can make sure to fit your pups/kitties in. Thanks so much for supporting me and keeping me busy. Bella Update!! This is why it is so so so important to microchip your pets!!
Bella’s story
I got Bella in 2016, her brother (tank) needed a partner in crime. She was immediately his dog, not mine, she became his little shadow. In March of 2020 my babies got out of the fence and sadly Tank got hit by a car. Bella refused to leave his side until animal control picked them both up. After a few days she became a new dog and was a “people” dog, a whole new personality came out I never saw before, everyone was her best friend. I guess my little girl thought she was grown enough to leave home and go on a solo adventure, she got out of the fence again and was never found. I assumed she had crossed the rainbow bridge and was playing out there with her brother again.

On August 18, 2025 I received a voicemail from Houston Lake Animal Hospital in Georgia stating they had informed about my pet. I thought this was a mistake, they called the wrong number. When I called back they told me they had Bella! I’m not sure how she got there or what kind of adventures she had along the way but had I not gotten her microchipped I would have gone on believing my girl passed away years ago. 3 days later my spouse and I drove the 15 hours from Texas to Georgia to get my Bella back.

She will be 10 in October and I’m beyond blessed to have her back and have a second chance together. I never thought I’d see her happy little butt wiggles again but now she is home. There are many questions I will never have answered about her 5 years away but I’m so grateful Bella wound up in the care of Houston Lake Animal Hospital. They took great care of her and held her long enough for me to get there. Thank you reuniting my family!!

Get the tissues! A few days ago, one of our clients stopped to pick up a stray dog near the side of the road. She immediately stopped by to have the pup checked for a microchip. SHE HAD ONE!!! We were able to get in touch with her mom and let her know we had Bella and she was safe and healthy. Turns out, Bella ran away from Texas over 3 years ago!! Mom was so shocked and excited that they drove all the way from Texas to come pick her up. Bella didn't skip a beat loving back up on her family. The pictures just don't capture the emotion at the clinic this afternoon. Please, Please, Please get your pets microchipped. Nikiko Cheyanne Canava

Labor day is coming!! Boarding and grooming facilities (including ours) are filling up fast!! Many places require your pets to be up to date on vaccines to be boarded and groomed. Make an appointment today! 478-971-4700
