What to bring (originals or copies)
Child’s state-certified birth certificate and Social Security card
Immunization Certificate (GA Form 3231) and Medicaid/insurance card
Well Child Check and Dental Exam (most recent)
Proof of income (one or more): recent W-2 or tax return, pay stubs, SSI benefits, child support letter, or social services letter.
Proof of address/residency

If applicable, documentation of special circumstances (e.g., social service agency letter, homelessness, SSI, TANF).

You can also apply online anytime and a Head Start staff member will follow up with you.

🎨💪 Bleckley Head Start: Father Figures Paint Day
Our classroom turned into a mini art studio for our Fatherhood activity! Fathers and father figures painted side-by-side with our little artists—mixing colors, stamping handprints, and turning ideas into bright masterpieces. Along the way we practiced turn-taking, color words, and fine-motor control.

Huge thanks to the men who made time to create with us—you brought the energy and the smiles!

The Hispanic Connection of the Peach Regional Chamber of Commerce invites you and your family to their free "Story Journeys" children's reading program every Saturday in September.

🤝 Enjoy captivating stories that celebrate diverse voices and rich cultural narratives in a fun, welcoming, bilingual environment.

📚 What to expect:
Engaging story time sessions in both Spanish and English.
Fun and inspiring stories highlighting Hispanic heritage.
A free book for every registered household to take home and cherish, while supplies last.

When: Every Saturday in September.
Time: 10:00 AM–10:30 AM.

Today our Byron Head Start family paused to remember September 11, 2001. With guidance from their teachers, our little learners created a handprint tribute to honor the lives lost and the heroes who served. We teach kindness, unity, and service—because even small hands can make a big difference.
