Heart of Georgia Hospice The Heart of Georgia Hospice Difference

At Heart of Georgia Hospice, we are proud to be the only independent nonprofit hospice in the Middle Georgia area.

Heart of Georgia Hospice the only independent, non-profit, Faith-based ministry Hospice program in the Middle Georgia Area serving people of all faiths and beliefs since 1984. We offer comprehensive hospice services to support our patients, their families, and the community in meaningful and compassionate ways. My Story:
This unique program captures the life stories of our terminally-ill patients on digital audio, as told in their own words. These recordings become cherished keepsakes, offering families the chance to forever hear their loved one’s voice and personal reflections. Casserole Ministry:
We provide meals to patients and families in need of extra support, especially for those without a church or community network. This is just one of the many ways we care for the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. Camp WINGS:
Each year, we host Camp WINGS, a free bereavement camp for children ages 6-17 who have lost a loved one. This special camp offers a safe space for healing, growth, and connection with peers who share similar experiences. Annual Memorial Service:
In December, we hold a touching Memorial Service to remember and honor the loved ones of those who have been part of our journey. This is a time for families to gather, reflect, and celebrate the lives of those we’ve cared for. Thrift Store:
Our Thrift Store, located on Watson Blvd behind the old Chick-fil-A in Warner Robins, provides critical support to our mission. Every purchase helps ensure we can continue offering free services to our patients and their families. Your contributions make a difference, as we never send a bill to our patients. Serving 10 Counties:
We proudly serve Houston, Macon-Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Dooly, Macon, Peach, Pulaski, Taylor, and Twiggs counties, providing compassionate, high-quality care where it’s needed most. We’re here to serve our community with heart, offering the highest standard of hospice care as we continue to make every moment matter for our patients and their families.

Happy National High Five Day! At Heart of Georgia Hospice, some of our favorite high fives happen at Camp WINGS — and they mean more than you might think.

Camp WINGS is our free weekend grief camp held in early November for children in 1st through 8th grade who have lost a loved one. For a lot of these kids, it's the first time they've been in a room full of other children who truly understand what they're going through.

Over the course of the weekend, campers bond through fun activities, get one-on-one attention from trained social workers, and work through their feelings in small group sessions. There's arts & crafts, outdoor activities, games, and laughter — and by the end of it, those high fives flying around aren't just about having fun. They're about resilience. They're about hope. They're about kids realizing they don't have to carry their grief alone. 💜

And the best part? It's completely free to attend.

If you know a child between 1st and 8th grade who has experienced a loss and could use a weekend like this, visit our website or give us a call to learn more. And if you'd like to help make Camp WINGS possible, consider volunteering or donating. It takes a village to pull this off, and every bit of support goes directly toward these kids.

💜 Because grief doesn't have an age limit — and neither does healing.

Today is National Healthcare Decisions Day, and it's one of the most important conversations you can have with the people you love.

Many families find themselves in impossible situations at a loved one's bedside, scrambling to make decisions they were never prepared for. Without an advance directive in place, that burden falls entirely on the people who are already hurting the most.

You have the power to change that.

Here's how to start today:
💜 Talk to your loved ones about their healthcare wishes
📄 Complete your advance directive and put it somewhere accessible
📍 Make sure your family knows where your documents are
💬 Encourage others in your family to do the same

At Heart of Georgia Hospice, we walk alongside families through some of life's hardest moments. We've seen firsthand how much peace of mind a simple conversation and a completed document can bring to everyone involved.

Don't wait for a crisis to start the conversation. Do it today, while there's time to do it with love and without pressure.

👇 Drop a comment if you already have an advance directive in place — and share this post to encourage someone who doesn't!

Today is Purple Up Day, a day dedicated to honoring the brave children of our military families.

Military kids are true unsung heroes. They move from school to school, say goodbye to parents for months at a time, and carry burdens most children never face. Purple is the official color of the military child, representing a blend of all the service branch colors: Army green, Marine Corps red, and the blues of the Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard.

At Heart of Georgia Hospice, we understand what it means to walk alongside families through life's hardest moments. We see the strength it takes to love someone in uniform, and we honor the children who carry that love every single day. 💜

Wear purple today. Share this post. Let a military kid know they are seen, appreciated, and never forgotten.

Education isn't just about books and tests — it's about the lessons that shape who we are. Some of the most important things we ever learn are how to process loss, express our emotions, and lean on others for support.

At Heart of Georgia Hospice, we are proud to offer Camp WINGS, a weekend grief camp designed specifically for children who are navigating the loss of a loved one. In a safe and nurturing environment, campers discover that grief is a natural part of life and that they do not have to face it alone.

Thank you to Middle Georgia Mini-Split LLC for sponsoring our First Annual Charity Golf Tournament!

A mini-split heater and AC is a ductless HVAC system that provides both heating and cooling to specific zones in a home using an outdoor unit connected to one or more indoor air handlers.

Mini-Splits are like a combination of window units and central heating & air. With a balance of efficiency, quietness, and zone control, mini-splits allow for each room to have it's own temperature setting — all without needing ductwork to operate.

If you are looking for quiet, energy-efficient, zoned heating/cooling, make sure to call owner Jacob Cornett at 478-957-9455 to get your mini-split journey started!
