Facebook. Yep, that’s how my humans found me! And just look at this face, who could resist? Seems like I was in foster care for a long time but I think it’s because I had an unidentified super power and it too just the right human to see my potential! My humans were looking for the perfect pup to train as a Diabetic Alert Dog (D.A.D) so they had to look beyond my dashing good-looks and be sure I had the temperament to do the job. It was kinda crazy meeting them…they had this check list of characteristics and a test for each one! I had to pass every point in the checklist to be considered. They said this was super important no matter how adorable I was. I PASSED!

I was saved from the pound by Pawsome Southern Rescue. These people are really Pawsome! I got to stay with a foster family on a farm…not in a kennel. I learned to live with dogs, cats, kids, and all kinds of farm animals. I was so great, I got to be in the house where I learned basic commands and the importance of going to the bathroom outside! It took awhile for me to find my just right people but the farm was perfect for me while I waited!
If you are looking for the perfect four legged addition to your family, check out Pawsome Southern Rescue. They are at Pet Smart in Warner Robins every Saturday.

Welcome to my page, I’m Max, a certified diabetic alert dog. I want to share my journey from the pound, through training, to traveling with my human. A lot of diabetics could benefit from having an alert dog like me but think it’s too expensive and see no way to make it happen for themselves or a loved one. While I’m definitely not cheap 😎 I know there is an affordable path to owning a service dog. If you’re interested, or know someone who can benefit, follow me and share my page!
