We pay tribute to a resident that has been a staple to our family for over 30 years, John Henderson. Affectionately known as “Uncle John,” he has blessed all of our lives and filled it with hope, perseverance and a lot of laughter. We thank him for all of the lives that he has touched along the way. RIP 🥰

Congratulations to our NAMI Peer to Peer graduates. After eight sessions of training and skill building these individuals are now better equipped to navigate their individualized experiences. We celebrate them and their accomplishments and give thanks to their certified peer specialist trainers and all that they do to be great examples.

In case you were wondering… you’re looking at 2,700 donated sausages! We will be exploring 101 ways to cook a sausage 😲 what’s most exciting is that the community continues to show up and give so much of their time, money, and effort to NAMI Central Georgia and none of it goes unnoticed. 2025 was the most productive year for NAMI Central Georgia. Although we cannot recap all of the amazing things we accomplished here are some highlights. The smiling faces emphasize the profound impact of community. The United Filipinos in Middle Georgia showcased their commitment by hosting a pre-Thanksgiving meal. Our hearts and bellies are full, and we are thankful to be part of a community that unites to foster meaningful connections. Thank you to all who support us. 🥰

This week has been exceptionally exciting and it’s only Monday!!! We appreciate the Houston County community for recognizing the need for mental health resources. We had Lending Hands, led by councilman Derek Mack and his wife Toni, provide food, clothes, hygiene products, and more to our residents. The 561st F-15 squadron from Robins Air Force Base provided an entire Thanksgiving dinner for everyone, and the Women of the Moose Lodge provided jackets and more for our residents as well. Our community confirms that “We are not alone” and we are thankful for that.

You are looking at Ms. Tori, who has shown unwavering commitment to becoming a certified peer specialist in mental health. Her mentors, with collective expertise spanning forensics, mental health, holistic health, and addictive diseases, mentored her throughout her journey to become a peer specialist. We celebrate Ms. Tori's achievements and hope that she will encourage other peers to follow a path of recovery.

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the United Filipinos of Middle Georgia marked one of their member's birthdays by providing a delicious lunch for NAMI Central Georgia residents. It is particularly noteworthy that they chose to celebrate by giving back to others. We are grateful for the kindness and generosity of our community members, who consistently spread joy to our NAMI Central Georgia residents.

Recently, our certified peer specialists participated in the DBHDD 2025 Power Moves Conference. The director and assistant director of peer services at NAMI Central Georgia had the opportunity to meet with Laurisa Guerrero, executive director of the Georgia Council for Recovery, and James Todd, CEO of the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network. Our peer specialists are instrumental in supporting the recovery of our residents, providing services to the community in collaboration with NAMI, DBHDD, and the Georgia Consumer Network.
