Cancer is a metabolic disease. Cancer is not a genetic disease.
Whether you do chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, you have to restore your healthy cells again. Let me digress for just a minute. Let’s talk about what cancer is. A lot of people think that cancer is a genetic disease but it’s not. It is not a genetic disease. It’s a metabolic disease. And a lot of people think of cancer as being stronger than their healthy cells but it’s not. Cancer cells are weaker than your healthy cells. Why do people get PET scans? And what’s unique about cancer cells versus non-cancer cells? If we look at a cancer cell, all of our cells in our body have insulin receptors on them. They have insulin receptors because each cell needs to get glucose as energy. As it turns out, the receptor sites on cancer cells have a multitude of receptors on them compared to normal healthy cells. Now why do you think cancer cells have a lot more insulin receptors on it compared to your normal cells? It can only maintain its lifespan by eating sugar. So what do I recommend? I recommend eating naturally occurring fats in your diet, eating more organic proteins, decreasing your glucose load which in turn you are basically starving cancer cells by doing that. Think about when you go to the doctor and you get a PET scan. What’s a PET scan? A PET scan shows cancer. How does it work? You’re injected with a radioactive tracer dye along with sugar. That molecule is being injected into your bloodstream and it seeks the cancer cells that have a lot of insulin receptors on them. That’s how you find where the cancer is. So we know that cancer is a METABOLIC DISEASE not a GENETIC DISEASE. This needs to be understood and treated metabolically. That’s why at Mason Wellness Center we test you for nutritional deficiencies, food allergies and sensitivities, environmental sensitivities, toxic metals, etc. This is why we change people’s diets, why we use vitamin therapy and detoxification. By the way, this is also why doctors use chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is an oxidative therapy. It destroys cancer cells but the limitations of chemotherapy are the DESTRUCTION OF YOUR HEALTHY CELLS. This is why people get kidney disease, liver disease, neuropathy, exhaustion, fatigue, skin problems, heart disease, etc. This is why integrative and functional medicine needs to fill in that missing blank.
