Congratulations to one of our former Lafayette externs on entering her third year as a BCBA! 🎉 It’s incredibly meaningful to know that her first experience with ABA was with us, and that it inspired her to enter the field. Her learners are as lucky to have her as we were! Best of luck as she embarks on another year in the best career path there is (if we do say so ourselves). ⭐

In this live session, occupational therapist Mallory Bauer and speech-language pathologist Michelle Pomeroy will share strategies to support independence and self-advocacy in autistic children through sensory-based approaches.

We’re always looking for ways to grow and learn as a team, especially through meaningful professional development opportunities. 📝 Team members recently attended a webinar on Neurodiversity Affirming Care with Ann Beirne, M.A., BCBA. The session covered the importance of language, the values behind affirming care, and how to set meaningful goals that reflect each child’s strengths and identity. It also explored the challenges of working within traditional models while staying true to a neurodiversity-affirming approach. We’re excited to bring these fresh ideas into our work and keep making a positive impact for our students and families!

NJABA Science of Behavior Analysis Conference

Mark your calendars! 📅 The 4th Annual Science of Behavior Analysis Conference is coming up on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 8:30am - 1:00pm, hosted by Rowan University.

This exciting event will feature a keynote by Dr. Mirela Cengher, who will dive into the importance and strategies of teaching multiple languages to children. Attendees will also hear presentations from leading voices in behavior analysis representing Rowan, Rider, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Caldwell University.

Grab a light breakfast, chat with college program representatives, and spend time with others who share your passion for behavior analysis. It’s a great opportunity to learn and connect!

Looking for an unforgettable summer adventure? 🏄 Best Day Foundation gives kids and young adults with disabilities the chance to experience the excitement of surfing and beach fun while building confidence and having a blast. Each child is paired with a Beach Buddy: a volunteer who will guide, support, and cheer them on throughout the day.

Open to kids and young adults aged 4 to 24, regardless of whether it’s their first time in the ocean or they’re seasoned beachgoers, every child is supported and encouraged throughout their experience.

We’re excited to share some leadership updates! 🎉 Jasmine Smith-Brown has been promoted to Clinical Director and will join Nicole Journe in a new co-director model, Jessie will be stepping into a new role as Operations Director, and Jen Kartelias and Dave Kelleher are transitioning to Training & Support Coordinators, all part of our continued commitment to strengthening our team and supporting our community.

We’re so proud of this incredible team and all the ways they’re helping SEARCH move forward, and we can’t wait to see the energy they’ll bring to their new roles! 🤩
