We are sincere in announcing the passing of Michael F. Wiley, of Eastpointe, who passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the age of 68.

Michael was a man of many talents and a vibrant personality. He was a dedicated business owner, an enthusiastic "suburban cowboy," and a great cook who loved travel and adventure with his beloved late wife, Christine. He was known for his great sense of humor, his offbeat observations, and a good dad joke.

Michael is survived by his stepsons Jon and Tony LaGore, step-grandchildren Rebecca and Nichole LaGore, nephews Marcus and Matthew Wilcox, and Chris, Paul and Andrew Sarniak, step-nephew Jason Badura, step-nieces Brittany Kujawski and Grace Warne, sisters-in-law Annmarie Kujawski and Theresa Badura, and brother-in-law Tom Kujawski.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years, Christine A. Wiley (Kujawski-LaGore), and his sisters Grace (George) Wilcox and Annie (Larry) Sarniak.

Wasik Funeral Home Tributes

We are sincere in announcing the passing of Ruth Katherine Schoenek, of Shelby Twp, who passed away July 24, 2025, at the age of 87.

Ruth is the beloved wife of the late Henrik. Loving mother of Dagmar (Kenn) Jones, Victor (Michelle) Schoenek, Gabriela (Timothy) Barc, and Andrea (Anthony Bartley) Garabedian. She is also a very proud Oma of 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is the dearest sister of Erika (the late Garry) Fix, the late Lothar (the late Jean) Spang, and the late Rainer Spang. Ruth was further predeceased by her son-in-law, Geoffrey Garabedian.

Her family humbly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ruth's memory to either the Leader Dogs for the Blind https://give.leaderdog.org/for/ldb/info/website or The Capuchins https://www.thecapuchins.org/donate.
