Friday Smile Feature 💫

Had the wonderful privilege to meet & work with on her smile who came to me complaining about how she dislike her smile. Her smile concerns were:

1️⃣ teeth not showing enough when she smiles
2️⃣ smile is bright enough
3️⃣ teeth are chilling and wearing thin

Transformation with 12 units achieved the following:

Lucky 7️⃣ 😱

Posting this at 6:06 AM on 6/6! Can’t believe today marks the start to my 7️⃣th year that I’ve been creating and providing confident smiles!

Throwback Thursday 🔙

Featuring on how a small smile makeover involving just two front teeth can have such a powerful impact! I had the wonderful privilege to work with who reach out to me back in 2020 complaining about how she hated to smile and afraid to eat because of her old bondings between her two front teeth were causing her paranoia. Bondings were initially used to attempt to close the natural gap that she had between her two front teeth and deteriorated over time.

“Bondings” are often called and also known as:

- Composite restorations
- White fillings
- Resin

Bondings are good material of choice for cosmetic purposes because they cost much less than ceramics (hundreds vs thousands) and they can be placed on faster than ceramics. A cheaper & fast option. Their disadvantages on front teeth are:

🔻 Staining over time
🔻 Weaker material then ceramics (breaks often)
🔻 Traps food
🔻 Deteriorates with a “melted look”

To address Amanda’s concerns and smile goals, NO MORE BONDINGS, two (2) lithium disilicate (LD) Veneers were prescribed = A happy patient who can now smile and eat confidently 🤩 As a side bonus (literally), Amanda can now also chew better on one side because we replaced her missing tooth in the back!

The best part about what I do, in all honesty, is seeing my patients’ beautiful smiles on social media. To see all of them glow with their confident smiles just makes all of the time I had put in designing and all of the diligent work that went behind the scenes worth while. To witness that I had added a tiny part to their day-to-day happiness & confidence is truly rewarding.

Winning Smile Wednesday 🏆

A gummy smile (too much gums showing when you smile) correction is one of the most rewarding smile transformation that a cosmetic dentist can be apart of. Any of the following conditions below can create a gummy smile look:

1️⃣ Upper jaw over growth
2️⃣ Shortened upper lip
3️⃣ Hyperactive upper lip muscle
4️⃣ Gums overgrowth covering teeth

Depending on which of the above reason(s) is(are) causing a gummy smile, different procedures and/or treatments can be prescribed or done. There isn’t one procedure to treat all gummy smiles.

I had the wonderful privilege to work with this patient who hated her gummy smile and her old ceramic work (ie crowns). In her gummy smile situation, portion to her normal teeth were covered by her excessive gum growth (reason 4️⃣ above) and then her old dentist crowned on the small amount of teeth that was showing which then made all of her teeth short / small look.

With cosmetic dentistry, I can fix her gummy look, but with proper of planning, smile designing, and then extensive amount of revision work. Procedure prescribed and completed were:

☑️ Existing crowns removal
☑️ Gingivoplasty (gum reshape)
☑️ Crown Lengthening (jaw bone trim)
☑️ New crowns & bridges (Lithium Disilicate & Zirconia)

This smile transformation case achieved:

🔸Straighter teeth
🔸Replaced missing teeth
🔸No gum show
🔸Symmetry
🔸Wider smile
🔸Brighter smile
🔸Stronger teeth
🔸Rejuvenated smile

End result = 100% of gum show elimination & a happy smiling patient 🥰 Part 2, we will complete the transformation by addressing to the bottom teeth. What a perfect smile, a case I transformed 2 years ago, to re-feature today! 1st, what a beautiful smile and secondly, it’s her birthday! didn’t like many aspects of her smile, but the two main issues were lack of symmetry and her front teeth jumped out so here’s what I did:

☑️ Created symmetry
☑️ Permanently brightened smile
☑️ Widened her smile in the back
☑️ Strenghten teeth
☑️ Rejuvenated smile
☑️ Straightened smile

1️⃣ Gingivoplasty (laser gum lift)
