The Olympics are coming to a close soon, but not without highlighting another athlete with asthma! 🫁 Meet Kelsi Worrell Dahlia, a swimmer who competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics. 🇺🇸🇧🇷 She competed in the 4 x 100 Meter Relay and, with the other three women on her team, won the USA its 1000th Summer Olympic Gold Medal! 🏅 What a special honor! 🤩 While she admits that her road to swimming hasn't been all "rainbows and butterflies," her hard work and control over her asthma is an inspiration all on its own. 🌈 🦋

As the Olympics continue, we want to highlight another incredible athlete with asthma! 🫁 Tom Dolan is a swimmer who competed in the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal both years for the 400-meter individual medley! 🏊🏻‍♂️🏅 Diagnosed with asthma at the age of 12, he endured much hardship in the process of making his come true. But he did it! 🌊 He even feels that learning how to deal with asthma made him a better swimmer - "it has made me tougher, made me stronger," he said. "My coach says it actually helps me in meets because of my ability to withstand stress." What a hero!

45 years ago today, Family Allergy & Asthma was born! 🌟 From a small clinic in Louisville, Kentucky to an incredible, nationwide practice, we are so proud to have served multiple generations of patients! 🕰️ Our founders, Dr. James Sublett and Dr. Stephen Pollard, are true giants in our eyes and we couldn't admire their dedication to allergy and asthma care any more than we already do. 💙 Cheers to 45 years!

In honor of this exciting year in global sports, we wanted to highlight a few athletes who fought asthma and WON with gold medals in hand! 🏅 Our first is Jackie Joyner-Kersee, the track-and-field star who was ranked the Greatest Female Athlete of All Time by Sports Illustrated for Women! 🏃🏾‍♀️ Exercise often exacerbates asthma, but as Jackie says, "it is a disease that can be CONTROLLED!" 🫁
