The WMMC Auxiliary recently celebrated 57 years of service during their Annual Meeting and Luncheon. The event included a lunch served by WMMC leadership and staff, as well as a fall floral demonstration by Jennifer DeBacker of Awesome Blossoms.

Over the past 57 years, the WMMC Auxiliary has donated more than $775,000 toward equipment and services at WMMC, and has provided over $119,000 in scholarships for healthcare students. We're so grateful to the Auxiliary for their wonderful support!

We celebrated the unveiling of our new PET/CT machine with an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! 🎉 This new equipment marks a major advancement in local cancer, stroke, and cardiovascular care, as well as the successful completion of the Western Missouri Medical Center Foundation's $1 million capital campaign. Special thanks to the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce for marking the occasion with us, and to everyone who helped us bring this life-saving technology to our community!

September is Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Awareness Month! PAD is a serious condition that limits blood flow in the arteries, particularly those supplying the legs and feet. This reduced circulation can lead to painful, non-healing wounds and increase the risk of serious complications. Our Advanced Wound Center team recently joined healthcare providers across the country to raise awareness of PAD, chronic wounds and amputation through the Healogics, LLC. White Sock Campaign.

Congratulations to our newest DAISY Award winner, Brianne Lamport, RN! 🌼

Brianne's nomination was submitted by one of WMMC's own providers: "While I was on call, I received a message from Bri inquiring whether I was covering trauma. Although I hadn’t received a consult, her concern prompted me to investigate further. Bri was advocating for a patient and knew that time was of the essence. Bri’s swift and decisive action gave the patient the best possible chance for a positive outcome. Her vigilance and commitment to patient care exemplify nurses' the critical role, not only in treatment, but in ensuring that no concern goes unnoticed. This is far from the first time Bri has demonstrated her exceptional skill and dedication, and I am confident it will not be the last. Her actions deserve recognition and, more importantly, serve as a model for others. Our nurses are essential to the quality and safety of patient care, and Bri’s example reminds us just how impactful their advocacy can be."
