As Christmas is approaching and we are fully into the holiday season, I cannot help but share this important reminder. I have two clients due within the next two weeks, super exciting time of year with all sorts of parties and family gatherings, just remember to let baby choose his/her birthday!!
I might be in the middle of Christmas Eve service, baking cookies, or just enjoying family time, but you can bet if I get that call, this woman is on her way 😊

A due date can be off by 2 weeks. Electing induction at 39 weeks could place you at risk for birth injuries, birth trauma, and further medical interventions

Did you struggle with preterm labor and/or preterm birth?

A woman's immune system changes throughout a normal pregnancy in a highly orchestrated manner, Stanford researchers have found. The findings lay the groundwork for tests to predict preterm birth.

I had the joy and privilege to be able to attend a bereavement doula workshop put on by Stillbirthday Heidi Faith Stillbirthday Founder I enjoyed it very much and learned a lot. Heidi is the sweetest woman who has become such a blessing to so many grieving mamas and their families. Her M0M Center in Kearney, MO is an amazing beautiful place!

Today is International Bereaved Mothers Day. Keeping the grieving mamas in my prayers today. I thought it was only appropriate to announce on this day that I will soon be attending an all day training and working towards my certification as a bereavement doula. Unfortunately, not every pregnancy ends with a happy ending, for those mamas that walk that journey, they need to be loved on and cared for, they need to see and feel the blessings and love from others. I pray I can offer that comfort to the grieving mamas and their families whenever the time comes. β€οΈπŸ™πŸ»

It's an opportunity for moms grieving for their children to be open about all they’ve endured.

After being on hiatus for a bit with a big move and attending my own birth and welcoming our 3rd son last October, I am about to be active again. If you know anyone in the Warrensburg/Clinton/Sedalia areas that will soon be adding to their families, please send them my way!

THIS! I have been affected by this personally actually, a significant double mutation,so so very important to know if you have this mutation, especially a double mutation, as taking folic acid can be downright toxic and lead to a whole set of other issues in yourself and a developing baby. I can't stress this enough, if you have any suspicions at all, get tested!

There are plenty of 'don'ts' for a mom-to-be during her nine months of pregnancy. From soft cheeses to alcohol, doctors recommend again...

This is GREAT!! I love this so so much!! This is something I personally struggled with severely.. I never knew postpartum could be so difficult. It is not all rainbows and butterflies! Postpartum is messy, full of crazy hormones, sleep deprivation, painful and enlarged breasts, replenishing lost nutrients, re-establishing routines, all while still trying to maintain your marriage and relationship with others and yourself. Be kind to yourself mamas!!! There is a huge reason why we have one of the highest rates of Postpartum mood disorders here in the US.. other countries view the postpartum period VERY differently than we do. Take care of yourself, be gentle, be kind, and allow yourselves to feel all the feels!!!

Shortly before mom blogger and public speaker January Harshe gave birth to her sixth child in February, she discovered that some of the content under the Instagram hashtag was unfriendly towards new moms. There she found "spam posts ...

Great info! Getting pregnant and adding another baby to the family or even just thinking about it, can be absolutely petrifying after going through a Postpartum mood disorder. I think the key here is to have a plan of action before baby comes or even before a next pregnancy as to what you will do and how you will make things different for next time. Having that plan in place can really ease the mind.

What are your thoughts on this? How did you survive the sleep deprivation with your newborn? With mental health tied so closely to being well rested, I see this being a huge contributor to PPD/PPA.

After the extreme sleep deprivation I had with my first baby, I never thought I would do it again. But here I am with Baby #2 and it's not nearly as bad.
