⚠️ Recall Alert: Omnipod® 5 Pods

The FDA is alerting consumers that Insulet Corporation has issued a voluntary correction for certain lots of Omnipod® 5 Pods distributed in the U.S.

Some Pods may have a small tear in the internal insulin tubing, which could cause insulin to leak inside the Pod instead of being fully delivered to the body.

🔎 What to do:
Customers can check their lot numbers and request replacement Pods by visiting:

😷 Respirator Protection Matters

Whether it’s a virus, concrete dust, or an engineered nanoparticle, the type of particle doesn’t change its ability to be filtered. When properly selected and used, NIOSH-approved respirators can help protect workers from a wide range of workplace aerosols.

🌪️ Know Where to Go During a Tornado!

When a tornado warning is issued, taking shelter in the right location can save lives.

✔️ Best options:
➡A basement
➡A small interior room on the lowest floor
➡A room without windows (bathroom, closet, hallway)

❌ Avoid:
➡Top floor rooms
➡Rooms with windows
➡Exterior rooms
➡Being outside — no place outdoors is safe during a tornado

If you have a basement, move there quickly and bring your emergency supply kit.

Being prepared and knowing where to shelter ahead of time can make all the difference when severe weather strikes.

💊 National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week | March 15–21

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District (RRHD) is highlighting the importance of overdose prevention by encouraging community members to participate in free REVIVE! training.

🧠 REVIVE! is Virginia’s opioid overdose and naloxone education program. It teaches people to recognize overdose signs and administer naloxone, a lifesaving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose.

📦 Last year, RRHD distributed 220 free naloxone kits and attended 40+ community events to provide Narcan education and training.

🆓 RRHD provides free naloxone and training for community members, organizations, and businesses.

* SERIOUS severe storm POTENTIAL on Monday *

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has placed the area in a level 3 out of 5 risk zone for severe storms on Monday, which is an unusually high level for our region this many days in advance. The exact timing of storms is still to be determined but any time between early afternoon and around sunset is possible. The storms should move through rather quickly but could pack a dangerous punch.

An unusually intense cold front will be passing through and storms along and ahead of it could produce damaging wind gusts, hail and even tornadoes.

As is often the case with potential thunderstorm events, exactly how widespread severe storms are and the places that will get hit hardest are difficult to pinpoint. There’s some possibility the storms don’t reach their potential if clouds and cool air linger on Monday, reducing available energy.

The Weather Service is urging residents carefully monitor forecasts and be prepared for a significant outbreak of severe weather.

🤧 Do You Know the Most Common Allergy Triggers?

Allergies happen when the immune system overreacts to substances that are usually harmless. Triggers can be found indoors, outdoors, and even in everyday foods or medications.

Here are some of the most common ones to watch for:

🌿 Pollen – From grasses, trees, and weeds; a major cause of seasonal allergies and hay fever.
🐶 Pet dander – Proteins in animal saliva and skin can trigger sneezing, itchy eyes, and congestion.
🛏️ Dust mites – Tiny bugs that live in bedding, carpets, and furniture and thrive in humid environments.
🐝 Insect stings – Some people have serious allergic reactions to bee or other insect stings.
🍤 Food – Common triggers include milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, and soy.
🍄 Mold – Grows in damp areas like basements, bathrooms, and piles of wet leaves.
💊 Medications & latex – Certain drugs and materials can cause allergic reactions ranging from mild irritation to severe symptoms.
