Yesterday, I was invited to provide a behavior management training for a local preschool, and I was truly honored to have been asked. (I work privately with a child who attends the school and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the teachers and administration.) Preparing for the training was such a meaningful experience. I found myself reflecting on my own time as a preschool teacher almost 20 years ago and remembering the most challenging moments of our days.

During the training, I invited the teachers to share what they find most difficult in their classrooms, and I was so grateful for their openness and vulnerability. We had thoughtful discussions, and I genuinely appreciated the opportunity to encourage them and offer alternative strategies for responding to challenging behaviors.

I also found myself thinking back to my early years in education, working with children with special needs in daycare centers and preschools. Some of what I observed in certain settings led me to decide that I would never place my own children in a preschool or daycare without complete confidence that they were in a safe, nurturing, and loving environment. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of observing many local classrooms and have experienced both inspiring and less than ideal environments.

Yesterday felt especially meaningful because it was an opportunity to support and equip teachers with tools to better understand and respond to challenging behaviors—ultimately helping to create calmer, more supportive, and adaptive environments for all children.

If you have a preschool aged child experiencing behavioral challenges, I would love to connect with you to offer support!

Happy 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣!! Now that my own children are back in school and we are settling back into our routines, I have a moment to reflect on the past year.

In 2025, I had the opportunity to work with 65 children with developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, or those in need of support while working through a tough time. It’s not lost on me just how lucky I am to continue prioritizing my role as a mother while also having a positive influence on other children’s lives.

When I relaunched this company, I was at a point of transition. I followed my intuition and trusted that I was being led to what I was meant to do next. Blooming Minds of Virginia reemerged at a time when my own son needed support, as well as many other local children.

I am eternally grateful to every single one of my clients for trusting me to help improve the quality of their family’s life. I’m grateful to have grown this business to a point where I can enjoy the balance of meeting my own children’s needs and being a blessing to other local families. I would not have been able to do this without the referrals, reviews, and positive feedback shared by word of mouth.

Thank you for the books, toys, crafts, games, and learning materials donated for so many children to use and enjoy! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all of your support.

This year, I’m looking forward to meeting new exceptional children and their families, and continuing this journey to see where it leads. I am grateful for the ease and balance in this current phase of my life, and I have so many of you to thank for it!

Here’s to an incredible year! ✨
