The sun finally came back out today and it honestly felt like a reset.
After days of rain, everything outside looked alive again — the plants, the trees, the herbs, the garden.
And it reminded me how much the body also needs light, rest, rhythm, nourishment, and space to recover.
This month I’ve been focusing deeply on: • digestion • stress support • nervous system health • simple nourishment • realistic wellness in midlife
Because so many people are trying to “fix” their gut while living in constant overwhelm.
Stress impacts digestion more than most people realize.

Im a holistic nutrition practitioner, digestive wellness specialist, herbalist, and wellness educator who supports women in midlife and beyond through real food, nervous system support, herbal wellness, and sustainable lifestyle practices.

Several years ago, when I was still early in my personal training journey, my husband gave me a TRX Suspension Trainer for Christmas.

I honestly had no idea how much it would change the way I moved and connected to my body.

Over the years, TRX became more than just “exercise” for me.

It helped me:
• strengthen my upper body
• improve posture
• increase mobility
• build stability
• understand body awareness differently
• connect breath with movement
• move with more intention instead of force

What I love most is that it meets you where you are.

It’s accessible.
Lightweight.
Travel-friendly.
Low-impact but deeply effective.
And it allows you to move your entire body in a way that feels supportive and functional for real life.

That’s why I created TRX Fusion Flow Yoga.

This class blends:

Real wellness is learning how to nourish yourself without fear.

Not fear of food.
Not fear of aging.
Not fear of slowing down.
Not fear of needing rest.

Over the last few years, I’ve realized that so many people are exhausted from trying to “do wellness perfectly.”

But true nourishment often looks much simpler.

It looks like:
• eating outside in the sunshine
• learning how to cook again
• supporting digestion gently
• drinking tea slowly
• moving your body with care
• understanding your nervous system
• reconnecting with nature
• finding rhythms that actually work in real life

Last night we gathered for our Nourished in the Kitchen member Q&A and welcomed a new member into the community. 💜

It reminded me why I created this space in the first place.

Nourished in the Kitchen is not about perfection.
It’s about practical wellness, real nourishment, and learning how to care for yourself in a grounded and sustainable way.

🌿 Teach Me Tuesday: Better Digestion Starts Here.

When digestion feels off, most people look at food first.
But digestion is not just about what you eat.
It’s about how your body is functioning while you eat.

If you’re in burnout, not sleeping well, or constantly “on,” your body is not in a state to digest properly.

So today, we keep it simple.

Teach Me 3 Things for Better Digestion:
1. Slow your body down before you eat
Digestion happens best in a calm state.
If you’re rushing, stressed, or distracted, your body shifts away from digestion.

Before your meal:
Pause for a moment
Take a few slow breaths
Sit down and give your body a signal that it’s safe to receive food
This alone can make a noticeable difference.

2. Support your body with warm, simple foods
When your system feels overwhelmed, heavy or complicated meals can feel like more work.

Start with:
Warm meals instead of cold
Cooked vegetables instead of raw
Simple combinations instead of overloaded plates.

Think: easier to break down, easier to absorb.

3. Chew your food and give your body time
Digestion starts in your mouth, not your stomach.

If you’re eating quickly:
Food isn’t broken down well
Your stomach has to work harder
You’re more likely to feel bloated or uncomfortable.

Slow it down just a little:
Chew more than usual
Put your fork down between bites
Notice when you start to feel full.

Bring it together:
If your nervous system is overwhelmed, your digestion will feel it.
We’re not forcing change.
We’re creating conditions for your body to work better.

I started using this hetb more this year. I have bought many plants from local farmers and stores but last year I finally kept her alive 💜

As I am still learning more and more about all herbs I always come back to my foundations.

Simple support.
Consistency.
Listening to my body and self.

Lemon balm has been one of those herbs for me recently that I have realky enjoyed leaning into and letting her take the wheel. She helps me slow down, breathe even deeper and give myself that permission to relax 😌
