Natasha's Natural Wellness and Herbal Remedies

01/30/2026

Over the past few days, Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara, the lead Buddhist monk for the Walk for Peace across America, has been feeling physically unwell. He is now walking at a slower and gentler pace near the end of the group. He's receiving attentive medical care, including IV fluids and antibiotics.

Venerable Pannakara, also known as Sư Tuệ Nhân, is 44 years old and comes from Hương Đạo Temple in Fort Worth, Texas. After months on the road on their 2,300-mile journey from Fort Worth to Washington, D.C., the monks and their loyal companion, Aloka the Peace Dog, have finally gained national attention from mainstream media. Many people have questioned why it took them so long, but it's better late than never.

The monks' powerful message of peace and compassion is working, and it's clear that they are truly changing lives for the better, one step at a time. - stay inspired

🌿 Skullcap — The Nervine Restorer
Skullcap is known as a nervine tonic, meaning it helps restore, calm, and rebuild the nervous system after long periods of stress, overwhelm, anxiety, or emotional depletion.

It is especially supportive for: • racing thoughts
• chronic stress
• nervous exhaustion
• tension headaches
• emotional overwhelm
• difficulty sleeping
• burnout and adrenal fatigue

Skullcap doesn’t sedate — it soothes and strengthens the nervous system over time.

Mineral & Vitamin Synergy While Skullcap is not a high-mineral herb, it plays a vital role in helping the body properly USE minerals, especially:
• Magnesium — relaxation & muscle tension
• Calcium — nerve signaling & stability
• Potassium — nerve & heart rhythm
• B-vitamins — stress response & brain health.

When the nervous system calms, digestion improves, absorption improves, and hormones begin to rebalance naturally.

Forms of Skullcap & How to Use It
Dried Herb (Tea)

I have been more recently going back to Skullcap in tincture form and having it in my water or tea mocktail. I have it twice a day one dropper full.

• Gentle daily nervous system support
• Best in the evening or during stress
• Pairs beautifully with lemon balm, oatstraw, passionflower
Tincture
• Faster acting
• Helpful for acute anxiety, panic, or racing thoughts
• Excellent for daytime nervous tension
🌼 Capsules / Extracts
• Consistent long-term nervous system rebuilding
• Helpful for burnout recovery
🌱 How Skullcap Grows • Native to North America
• Loves moist soil and partial sun
• Grows quietly near streams and woodland edges
• Teaches us the medicine of gentle strength and restoration

💛 Emotional + Energetic Connection
Emotional theme: safety, restoration, emotional regulation
✨ Chakra Spark: Crown + Third Eye
Skullcap helps quiet the mind, soften mental loops, and reconnect you with inner stillness and intuition.

This herb reminds us:
“Peace is not found in doing more — it’s found in allowing the nervous system to feel safe again.”

💜 From My Heart
If your body feels wired, tired, or emotionally stretched — this is not weakness.
It’s wisdom asking for nervous system nourishment.
Skullcap teaches us that healing often begins not with action…
but with rest, softness, and self-compassion.

Mineral Monday

Today’s atmosphere feels… heavy.
Tender. Reflective.
And I’ll be honest — I feel it deeply in my heart.
There’s a kind of heaviness that can’t be rushed away.

A feeling that asks to be walked with, not fixed.
And today, I’m choosing to walk with it.
With sorrow, with softness, with awareness.
And in this space, Skullcap has been calling to me again.

She has been my guide on and off through different seasons of my life.

But this week, I leaned into her more intentionally — knowing that my heart and body can only hold so much… as so many of us can.

Skullcap supports:
• calming racing thoughts
• easing emotional tension
• soothing stress held in the body
• restoring the nervous system after overwhelm
She doesn’t force healing.
She gently holds space for it.

🫖Ways I’m working with her this week:
• Tea for evening restoration
• Tincture when the nervous system feels tender
• Paired with rest, breath, and stillness

💜 Emotional note: restoration & emotional safety
💙 Chakra spark: Crown + Third Eye — clarity, intuition, and surrender
From my heart to yours 🤍
If today feels heavy…
may you find an herb, a breath, a moment, or a ritual that reminds you:

You don’t have to carry everything alone.
Rooted. Held. Nourished.

Grand rising beautiful souls
Do you know what 108 means?

I Today I’m honoring the number 108 — a sacred number in Sanskrit philosophy, yoga, and cyclical wisdom.
108 represents wholeness, completion, and return.

It reminds us that practice is not about perfection, but about showing up again and again — breath by breath, step by step, note by note.
A mālā carries 108 beads.
A mantra is repeated 108 times.
Not to rush the journey — but to be present within it.

Today I also want to take a moment to honor Bob Weir, whose music has long carried this same spirit of repetition, exploration, and remembrance.

Through rhythm, storytelling, and improvisation, his work reminds us that music can be both grounding and expansive — a place where community, freedom, and consciousness meet.

✨ 108 is a reminder
• We are always returning
• Practice is sacred
• Community matters
• Rhythm heals

If you’re feeling called to deepen your own practice, I invite you to join me:
🌿 Rise and Root Yoga — grounding, intentional movement to reconnect with your body and breath virtually 9am Thursdays

🌿 Soulful Flow Yoga (Restorative) — a gentle, nourishing class focused on restoration, release, and coming home to center The Main Street Wellness Co. Fridays 5:15pm

Whether through movement, stillness, or shared space, these offerings are here to support your return — to balance, to breath, to self, and to center.

May today be an invitation to move with intention, listen deeply, and honor the rhythms that shape us — within and without.

🌿 Mineral & Herbal Monday: Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata)

This evening’s Mineral & Herbal Monday focus is on Passionflower — a gentle yet powerful ally for the nervous system, emotional regulation, and deep rest.
Passionflower may not be mineral-dense in the way nettle is, but it plays a critical role in helping the body USE minerals properly, especially magnesium and B vitamins.

🌸 What Passionflower Is
Passionflower is a climbing vine native to North America, with delicate, otherworldly blooms that reflect its medicine: calm, centered, and expansive.

Traditionally used for: • nervous tension
• anxiety & racing thoughts
• insomnia & restless sleep
• stress-related digestion
• emotional overwhelm

It is especially supportive for women who hold stress in the body, mind, or gut.

🌿 How Passionflower Supports the Nervous System
Passionflower works by: • calming overactive nerve signaling
• supporting GABA activity (the brain’s calming neurotransmitter)
• reducing stress-driven muscle tension
• helping the body shift into rest-and-digest mode.

When the nervous system calms, mineral absorption improves, hormones stabilize, and sleep deepens.

This is why Passionflower pairs beautifully with mineral-rich herbs like nettle, oatstraw, and lemon balm.

🍵 Forms of Passionflower & How to Use It
🌿 Dried Herb (Tea / Infusion)
• Gentle, calming, grounding
• Best for evening wind-down or stress support
• Can be blended with lemon balm or oatstraw.

💧 Tincture
• Faster-acting
• Helpful for acute stress, anxiety, or racing thoughts
• Easy to carry and dose during the day
🌼 Capsules / Extracts
• Useful for consistent nervous system support.

• Often combined with magnesium or B-complex support
🌱 How Passionflower Grows
• A fast-growing vine
• Loves sun and well-drained soil
• Produces beautiful flowers and edible fruit (maypop)
• Teaches us that gentleness and resilience can coexist.

💛 Emotional + Energetic Connection
Emotional theme: surrender, safety, emotional regulation
Chakra spark: Heart + Third Eye
Passionflower supports letting go of mental looping and emotional holding — reminding us that rest is productive and calm is powerful.

🌸 From My Heart
If your body feels wired, tired, or overwhelmed — it’s not a failure.
It’s a signal asking for softness, support, and nervous system nourishment.
Passionflower reminds us that healing doesn’t always come from doing more —
sometimes it comes from allowing ourselves to rest.
