Over the past few days, Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara, the lead Buddhist monk for the Walk for Peace across America, has been feeling physically unwell. He is now walking at a slower and gentler pace near the end of the group. He's receiving attentive medical care, including IV fluids and antibiotics.
Venerable Pannakara, also known as Sư Tuệ Nhân, is 44 years old and comes from Hương Đạo Temple in Fort Worth, Texas. After months on the road on their 2,300-mile journey from Fort Worth to Washington, D.C., the monks and their loyal companion, Aloka the Peace Dog, have finally gained national attention from mainstream media. Many people have questioned why it took them so long, but it's better late than never.
The monks' powerful message of peace and compassion is working, and it's clear that they are truly changing lives for the better, one step at a time. - stay inspired
