🌟 Meet Dillen Mayfield – Recreation Director, Warren County Pathfinders 🌟


Dillen has been part of the WCP team for three years, growing into his new leadership role as Recreation Director after years of dedicated service. His journey in this field began back in 6th grade when he volunteered as a unified partner with Special Olympics, a spark that grew into a lifelong passion for inclusion, sports, and building friendships through shared experiences. Before joining Pathfinders, Dillen worked with Special Olympics Missouri as both a Program Coordinator and the Unified Champion Schools Coordinator, connecting students across the state with opportunities to shine.

For Dillen, the best part of his work is seeing the joy on someone’s face when they try something new for the first time or form lasting friendships. Outside of WCP, he’s a huge sports fan who enjoys disc golf, playing various sports, and cheering on St. Louis City SC, where season ticket holders know him by the nickname “Wonderbread.” At home, he shares life with his two dogs, Cash and Carter.

From local outings to national events, Dillen has represented Special Olympics with pride, including trips to the USA Games in Seattle and Orlando. His energy, dedication, and love for the people he serves make him an inspiring leader in the Recreation Department.

🌟 Meet Tasha McCarty – Transportation Coordinator, Warren County Pathfinders 🌟


Tasha has been a part of the WCP team since 2016, beginning as a DSP in the Day Program before stepping into her role as Transportation Coordinator in 2018. With a background in childcare, early education, and workshop services, Tasha knew years ago that this was the field she wanted to devote her life to. She is passionate about seeing the impact of her work each day and takes pride in helping others thrive.
Outside of work, Tasha and her husband, Billy, enjoy their big blended family of seven children and six grandchildren. They share their home with two Old English Bulldogs—T-Bone and Pork Chop—who keep life lively and full of love. A dedicated Special Olympics volunteer since the late ’90s, Tasha also loves cooking, baking, fishing, Jeep rides, and being outdoors.
Her commitment, compassion, and energy make her a vital part of our Pathfinder family!

✨ Spotlight on Discovery Plus ✨


Life is richer when it’s filled with friendship, laughter, and new adventures, and that’s exactly what Discovery Plus brings to our Recreation Department! Each month, adults in the program team up with mentors and head out to enjoy activities they’ve chosen themselves. From painting, ceramics, and cooking to Cardinals baseball games, concerts at The Muny, fishing trips, and more. Discovery Plus is all about creating experiences that spark joy.

Thanks to generous donations, successful fundraisers, and the dedicated efforts of our grant-finders, this program is offered free of charge to participants. Traveling with mentors provides support and encouragement, helping individuals build confidence, foster friendships, and discover new talents in a safe, welcoming atmosphere. Discovery Plus makes these unforgettable experiences possible!
