"The SPF numbers on sunscreens have nothing to do with UVA light as UVA can not be measured numerically. Zinc and titanium do however protect your skin from UVA light and often are found in many sunscreens. These mineral blocks are great for those with sensitive skin.

If you don't want a white residue from the sunscreen, use micronized and tinted versions.

Lastly, although avobenzone offers UVA protection, it's not very stable and loses its effectiveness within one hour of sun exposure. Two patented stabilizers to keep avobenzone working are Helioplex from Neutrogena and Mexoryl from Antehelios."
