Join us tonight for our free, in-person peer recovery support group from 7-8:30 PM at Yardley Friends Meeting, 65 N. Main Street, Yardley, PA, 19067. All are welcome!

NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer-led support group for any adult who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others, and the groups are led by trained leaders who’ve been there.

NAMI’s support groups are unique because they follow a structured model to ensure you and others in the group have an opportunity to be heard and to get what you need.

By sharing your experiences in a safe and confidential setting, you can gain hope and feel a sense of connection. The group encourages empathy, productive discussion and a sense of community. You’ll benefit from other’s experiences, discover your inner strength and empower yourself by sharing your own experiences in a non-judgmental space.

NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group will help you:

⦿ Aim for better coping skills
⦿ Find strength in sharing experiences
⦿ Not judge anyone’s pain
⦿ Forgive ourselves and reject guilt
⦿ Embrace humor as healthy
⦿ Accept that we cannot solve every problem
⦿ Understand that mental health conditions are no one’s fault and can be traumatic experiences

Today is World Semicolon Day.

A reminder that your story isn’t over — even when it feels like it is. For years, this symbol has been carried by people across the world through moments they didn’t think they’d survive. Today, we show up for them — and for each other.

Whether you share your story, start a conversation, or support the mission, it all matters.

There are things many abuse survivors were never told, or were made to believe the opposite of.

That it was their fault. That they should have known better. That they were too much, not enough, or somehow the problem in all of it.

Those beliefs don’t just disappear... they continue to show up in the way you see yourself, the way you speak to yourself, the way you move through the world.

So today, this is your reminder.

It wasn’t your fault. What you went through was real. You didn’t deserve it. And you don’t have to keep carrying the blame for something that was never yours to hold.

You’re allowed to unlearn what you were taught, you’re allowed to see yourself differently, and you’re allowed to build a life that feels safe, and happy.

Stay Strong ❤️

Thank you to the students and staff at Bucks County Community College for having Katie and Nick present NAMI In Our Own Voice this afternoon at the Lower Bucks Epstein Campus in preparation for Mental Health Awareness Month!

NAMI In Our Own Voice presentations change attitudes, assumptions and ideas about people with mental health conditions. These free, 40-, 60- or 90-minute presentations provide a personal perspective of mental health conditions, as leaders with lived experience talk openly about what it’s like to have a mental health condition.

To learn more about this and other programs or to find support and resources, visit us at www.namibuckspa.org.
