Join us for our upcoming Advocacy Meeting on April 16th at 11:00 AM CST via Zoom.

We are honored to welcome our special guest, Kristina Guerrero, an award-winning journalist and breast cancer survivor whose career spans more than two decades in national media.

A graduate of USC’s Annenberg School for Communication, Kristina has built a powerful voice at the intersection of storytelling, culture, and visibility. In 2023, she directed and produced Walking Through Molasses, a short documentary that shares her personal journey through breast cancer.

Through her podcast and speaking engagements, Kristina continues to advocate for culturally informed storytelling and increased support for Latina women navigating diagnosis and survivorship.

This will be an inspiring and impactful conversation you do not want to miss.

Please email Sylvia@breastcare.org to get a link to join us.

NCBC was excited to have Prizer as the sponsor of the opening reception for NCoBC 2026. We also had the Pfizer Amplify Humanity Quilt on display during the conference. The quilt is a powerful storytelling and advocacy project created by Pfizer in collaboration with cancer advocacy organizations. The quilt is meant to “amplify humanity” in cancer care, putting real people and their experiences at the center of the conversation. It highlights the voices of advocacy organizations and leaders working to improve cancer care and equity.

April is Minority Health Awareness Month, and at the National Consortium of Breast Centers we are committed to raising awareness about the health disparities that impact underserved communities.

Breast health equity matters. Early detection, access to quality care, and culturally competent support can save lives. Too many minority communities still face barriers to screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

This month, we stand with advocates, survivors, and healthcare professionals working to close the gap. Together, we can ensure that every individual regardless of race, ethnicity, or background has access to the care they deserve.

Know your risk. Get screened. Advocate for your health.

Congratulations to Halkiopoulos, the first ever recipient of the NCBC Navigator of the Year Award. Her extraordinary expertise, compassionate care, and ability to bring comfort and ease to patients during some of their most vulnerable moments truly set her apart.

Dr. Sheri Yolanda Prentiss MD MPH CPS/A CPE FACPE CSP®, keynote speaker for NCoBC 2026, shared that from the age of two, she knew she wanted to become a physician. However, her journey from physician to patient changed the course of her life. As a breast cancer survivor, she is now walking in her purpose by helping other survivors manage lymphedema through her nonprofit, Live Today, which provides compression garments at no cost to underserved communities.
