We need your help!
Last month, the House of Representatives approved a budget bill that would cut nearly $800 billion from Medicaid. If this bill becomes law, states could lose funding for the care and services that people with disabilities rely on.

The good news is the Senate hasn’t voted yet, and the President will still need to sign the bill. That means there’s still time to stop it, but we need your help to keep the pressure on.

It’s time to tell Senator Todd Young https://www.young.senate.gov/contact/ and Senator Jim Banks https://www.banks.senate.gov/contact/ to protect Medicaid, because no one should have to fight to access basic health care!

Use the links above to contact the Senators’ offices with your own personal message, or go to one of the following sites for prewritten remarks:

The Arc of Indiana – provides an email template.

A few tips:
• Be brief. Our Senators are very busy and receive many messages per day. Keep it short to keep their attention.
• Be positive. Like the old saying goes, “You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” Connect your experience with the good the Senator wants to be known for.
• Make it personal. If you are writing, consider including a photo. Help the Senator see the real person their work is impacting.
• Offer to answer questions. Offer to be a resource to the Senator for first-hand information about the value of waiver services to individuals living with disabilities.

Thank you for helping us fight to protect Medicaid waiver funding!

Congress must act to Medicaid & SNAP for people with disabilities and their families! No one should have to go without needed food or health care. []

Medicaid funding is at risk. Please read the below message from the Indiana Association of Home and Hospice Care and act:
Dear IAHHC Members,
It is a critical time in the Congressional Budget process - and we need your voices to be heard.

Congress is moving swiftly on the reconciliation package, and the House Energy & Commerce Committee is starting to consider key changes to Medicaid ahead of next week’s markup process.

Now is the time to act.

To ensure our voice is heard, we must activate our grassroots networks immediately, emphasizing the unique ramifications for home-based care. We have included a ready-to-send message below that can be used to reach out to your Members of Congress. The message is flexible: you can send it as-is or customize it with your individual information.

Many of you are also engaged in outreach through other affiliations.. That’s a good thing. There’s strength in numbers—and in varied messages. You are encouraged to send communications any way you can, increasing our reach and impact.

Our goal is simple: flood House and Senate offices with constituent calls and emails that drive our message home.

Sincerely,

The IAHHC Team
