This is a super full moon as it's "supercharged", the moon is closer to the earth than it usually is and therefore the emotions and the moon's effect over us is stronger than usual.

This is a particularly lucky full moon for the cardinal signs. You may find yourself with multiple opportunities opening up to you and things you've worked hard for coming to fruition; keep it up!

The moon in Aries and the sun still in Libra brings collaboration from the "me" to the "we". Remember, we are all in this together and YOU have the beautiful ability to make a change in the world.

Warsaw Fest will be happening from 9am to 4pm this coming Saturday, October 11th.

In order to ensure more comfortable conditions for our yoga session I will be moving the time to 8am!

This will only be for this week.

Also: Main Street from St. Johns St to Ridgeway road will be closed starting from 8:30. So it will be necessary to park your car along a side street and walk to the park for class.

I'll get there earlier to pick the best possible spot ๐ŸŒน

Baddha Konasana ๐Ÿฆ‹

Butterfly Pose is an all time fave of mine!

It stretches the inner thighs, groin, and lower back. Butterfly Pose is done by bringing the soles of your feet together and allowing the knees to fall out to the side.

For those with tighter hips the knees won't come all the way to the ground, and that's alright; you can bring blocks or rolled up blankets underneath the knees for added height and support.

In Yin classes you hinge forward at the hips and allow the shoulders to round as you come forward towards your feet.

In Hatha classes you keep your spine lengthened and long and hinge at the hips until you reach your edge & staying here, and as you practice more you'll notice your body will allow you to go down further.

Butterfly Pose can be done sitting, reclined, or in a supine position.

It's super beneficial for people who spend long hours sitting; but be careful if you have sciatica - seated butterfly can irritate it, so instead you can do it reclined with pillows or bolsters.

Gratitude ๐Ÿฅฐ

You may have heard of "gratitude practice" and perhaps the idea seemed foreign to you. A daily gratitude practice can change your habits and life within days in profound ways. When you choose to be grateful for the things, people, places, and experiences in your life you open up your mind to the possibility and reality of abundance.

Abundance is a mindset which allows you to know and feel that absolutely anything you want you can have. Scarcity is the opposite of abundance - it keeps us thinking that there "isn't enough" of something for everyone and we have to fight or earn these things.

When you express gratitude for things, even the small things, you'll notice how easy it is to expand your list and once you see all the many things you have in your life you'll experience a mindset shift.

Use these pages below as a template for your practice. Or if you already have a committed meditation practice (morning or night) add gratitude to your thoughts and see how things change for you!

3) It opens a portal for you to release all the filters. Reflection ๐Ÿชž

Mindful reflection is the practice of engaging in intentional, non-judgmental, and curious self-assessment of your thoughts, feelings, actions, and experiences to gain deeper self-awareness and promote personal growth.

Unlike passive rumination (obsessing over things said or what people have done to you), which is unfocused and often negative, mindful reflection involves asking purposeful questions to understand what you're taking away from an experience, if your actions align with your values, and how to enact positive change.

This practice cultivates a contemplative outlook, fostering a balanced and compassionate connection with your inner self.

Below is a simple example of a daily check-in you can do before you go to bed, right after dinner, and so on.

Feel free to print it out and get those thoughts to paper or bring it up on your phone and meditate over the answers.

Forward Fold

This pose can be used in Hatha, Yin, and Restorative classes - all depending on how you do it!

For a Hatha (yang) focused class keep the legs active by pushing the heels away from the body and keeping the spine lengthened and long, hinge at the hips until your shoulders start to round and then stop there. Letting your hands come to the floor, knees, shins or maybe toes, keep the legs active. This pose can also be practiced whilst standing.

For a yin class let the legs relax and lengthen the spine; hinge at the hips but once you meet your edge allow the shoulders to round and the head to hang heavy, hold for 3-5 minutes. You can use a bolser or blocks as you like for support.

For a restorative based class allow the entire body to stay rounded/soft and fold forward using props to support the body so the mind can rest. Hold for at least 5 minutes.

Forward folds activate the vagas nerve, triggering the parasympathetic nervous system; an essential step that the body needs in order to enter a "rest & digest" stage.

I've received a wonderful opportunity to teach at a yoga retreat center in Umbria, Italy and I've taken it!!

So for the remainder of September ALL classes will be on a fall break.

I will return early October and post when Montross, Warsaw, Burgess, and private classes will be back in action.

I've had some requests for virtual classes and that can be arranged at a time suitable for us both. If interested, DM to discuss.

I wish everyone a safe and relaxing fall break and stay tuned for updates.
