Today is National Flossing Day!
Here are some practical flossing tips to ensure you're getting the most out of your oral hygiene routine:

- Use the Right Amount of Floss: Cut a piece of floss about 18 inches long. This gives you enough to work with while keeping a clean section for each tooth.

- Be Gentle: Don’t snap or force the floss between your teeth. Gently slide it up and down the sides of each tooth to avoid hurting your gums.

- Wrap It Properly: Wrap the ends of the floss around your fingers, leaving a couple of inches between your hands to grip. This helps you control the floss better.

- Curved Motion: Curve the floss around each tooth in a "C" shape, gently moving it up and down. This ensures you clean both sides of each tooth.

- Floss Before Brushing: It’s generally recommended to floss before brushing so that any loosened food particles and plaque can be removed when you brush.

- Don't Forget the Back Teeth: Be sure to floss all the way to the back molars. It’s easy to forget, but these teeth are prone to plaque buildup.

- Use New Sections of Floss: As you move from tooth to tooth, unwind a clean section of floss. This prevents spreading bacteria or plaque to other areas in your mouth.

- Floss Regularly: Aim to floss at least once a day, ideally before bedtime, to remove food and plaque buildup from the day.

These simple habits can help improve your gum health, prevent cavities, and maintain overall oral hygiene!
