Joenya has been with us since 2014, and in that time she has exemplified everything this honor represents—hard work, dedication, patience, and compassion in every part of her work.

At this year’s celebration, more than 400 people came together to honor 42 incredible DSPs who are truly the heart of disability services. We couldn’t agree more that Joenya belongs at the top of that list.

📢 New study alert: Families who received the expanded 2021 Child Tax Credit were more likely to have enough food, stable housing, and caregivers in good mental health compared to those who didn’t receive it.

The research, published in JAMA Network by Children’s HealthWatch, highlights how financial support can directly improve family well-being. 💰🏡🧠

This cohort study examines associations of health outcomes and material hardships among caregivers with young children with the expanded child tax credit that was issued in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2021.

🟣 We Stand with the PURPLE Alert Bill! 🟣

BIG news out of the RI State House: the PURPLE Alert bill has passed the House! This life-saving initiative would help quickly locate missing individuals with disabilities, much like AMBER and Silver Alerts do for children and seniors.

As an agency dedicated to supporting children with developmental disabilities—through in-home behavioral services—we know how critical rapid response can be in an emergency. The PURPLE Alert system could make all the difference.

Rhode Island would be just the 6th state to adopt this vital program. Let’s keep the momentum going! 💜

Next up: the Senate and the Governor. Let’s get this across the finish line!
