D***y Challenge Countdown: 67 Days!
Dr. McAteer is entering the most exciting part of her training! Yesterday she conquered a 12.5-mile long run, building endurance and mental strength as she heads toward the D***y Challenge — four races in four days during Disney Marathon Weekend!
This week at Oceanside Medical, we’re talking all about fueling and nutrition, with a special spotlight on protein. As her mileage increases through December, protein becomes one of the most important parts of her performance plan. It’s what helps repair muscle fibers, support recovery, and build lean strength so she can keep pushing mile after mile.
Dr. McAteer also keeps a 3-day-per-week weight training routine, which helps balance and protect her body during high-volume running. By pairing smart fueling with consistent strength work, she’s setting herself up for success on race weekend! 💪
