Moon Trust

She lifts her hand
slowly.

The wolf looks up

So do they.

Endurance is learning

without retreating.

Compassion is the open palm

breath answering breath,
distance honored,
closeness earned.

The ancestors stand inside this quiet.

They teach:
when trust is given gently,
the night will guard
what the day cannot.

There is nothing like starting off the kidding season with a few surprise babies first thing in the morning. We thought we had another week before babies started coming. Rolex surprised us this morning with two beautiful boys. Happy Kidding Season to all the other goat farmers out there!!

Held Without Sound

We learned early
that the earth does not rush.

It carries
and does not complain.

Endurance came to us
as patience—
the will to stay
when leaving would be lighter.

Compassion was taught
by touch,
by standing close
without asking anything back.

Protection lived
in quiet choices:
a body turning sideways,
a breath taken slowly,
a watchful stillness.

The ancestors spoke little.
Their strength
was how gently
they bore what mattered.

What remains with us
is not a command,
but a way—
to hold life carefully
and not let go too soon.
